Hi Dears,

I'm new to this forum. Despite this post would be more appropriate in the e-liquids discussions section, I can't post there (yet).
So let me tell you about my issue.

I've recently got two liquids from House of Liquid - Reserve and Minotaur. These are made from steeped tobacco leaves (so-called "N.E.T." liquids).
Very tasty, as advertised in many reviews. Better than analogs!
But, they are coils killers! I use a Trident RDA with a single micro-coil on cotton. After less than 1 ml, the coil gets gunky, full of sticky black coating. The initial nice alcohol tint then fades out, and the overall flavor becomes "smoky", in a bad way. Vapor production decreases too. And then I don't like it anymore. I then have to remove the cotton - which is not a big pb, but I have to clean the coil too: just dry burning it, there's no big help. I have to clean it with water and with a brush... And when heated, I still get the smoky taste. All this drives me crazy...
The deck is disgusting after less than 1 ml.
I imagine what would be to vape these liquids in a genesis atty, the mesh would be dead (and dead for good...) even more quickly.

How do you cope with the gunky coil and the ash in the atty? Which kind of builds are you using? Any tips and tricks on how to vape NET liquids? Which I assume, all behave pretty much the same.
I don't want to build a new coil 4 times per day.

Thanks!
Cristian

Thanks for your fast reply, Bunnykiller.
I couldn't find the VG/PG ratio for my liquids. I think it's kinda secret. The liquid is anyhow quite fluid, so I suspect a higher PG concentration than 20%.
Nic level is 6 mg. I fire my Trident with 10W. Micro-coil is made from D kanthal (i currently don't have A1), 4-5 wraps
Anyway, your setup lasts much much longer. I wouldn't have any issue to change the coil each 3 days.
hmmm... something isn't cusher in my case, that's for sure

Hi cristi75 and Bunnykiller,

I just found this thread while looking for feedback on the NETs available from House of Liquids. I know the thread is more than a month old now, but I see you didn't get much of a response. I've been using the Heather's Heavenly Vapes NETs - Dragon's Fire, Serendipity, Legend, Huntsman, Heavenly Army and Sludge (not sure if there are more). I've been loving ever one of them. No issues for my coils and wicks. I use cotton and always 28AWG A1 Kanthal microcoils.

Have you found any solutions cristi75? It sounds like you have a nasty situation. It's a pity. I really want to try the liquids from HoL.

Hi drewfield,

I'm glad that you've found this topic and replied. So glad that I placed an order at HHV :D , for the followings:
- Dragon's Fire (Purity)
- Heavenly Army (Purity)
- Pirate's Booty (Purity)
- Serendipity (Purity)
- Shadow (Purity)
- Sludge (Purity)
If I'll like those above, I have these on my wish list:
- Dark Horse (Purity)
- Legend (Purity)
- Oompa (Purity)

Now, about HOL... After I tried them on (and gave up), I sent them to my brother in law. He has a Kayfun and was not able to vape more than half a tank, until cotton needed to be changed.
He's probably more tenacious than me, and he ordered EL TORO PERIQUE, which is a new one on HOL's list. Its taste is really good and is more "gentle" with the setup. I didn't taste it myself.
I think you could try this one. But for a free shipping, you need I think 35 euros. You may try one of the two (this time, from CELLAR):
- Reserve
- Minotaur
Both have a genuine cigarette taste. Reserve has a whiskey undertone on inhale (on exhale is less obvious), while Minotaur has a rose hip undertone, at least this is how it speaks to me. Tasty, but messy. That's a real pity!!
I actually like both and I couldn't chose easily, Or try another one from EL TORO. As Perique seems to be like, they don't produce such a mess as Cellar.

If you're experiencing other NET liquids, I'd be happy to exchange opinions.

Good luck!

All over the place
HOL liquids are from soaked or macerated tobacco leaves, so that would be distinguished from a vendor like HHV that get's their tobacco extracts from a third-party source that steam distills. Not all macerated liquids will behave this poorly, but it is common place. What it has to do with is, like was mentioned, the percentage of extract in the product.

Now, how to get around this and actually still vape the liquid? Short of having to set up and tear down repeatedly, the only advice I can give is to take the liquid and cut it with some unflavored liquid of equal nic percentage. I've done this with want2vape tobaccos (notorious for their poor performance) and got rather amazing results. I cut mine approximately 30% (and all the way up to 50%) and the flavor was still there, though not as deep, but the performance made up for the reduced flavor.

You may want to check out vendors like Heather's Heavenly Vapes, Ahlusion (a few from the aromatic line, but all from the non-aromatic line) and Vermillion River for tobaccos that are much easier on coils and also are from a different process than maceration. For easier-on-the-coil macerated natural tobacco liquids, you can try GoodeJuice, River Bottom Fog Sauce, and My Vape Juice (the new line of cigars).

Thanks Mr.Mann for the interesting info, I didn't know HHV's tobacco extract is obtained differently than HOL's.
Now I also got a good list of NET vendors. So once I'll start vaping them (HHV's package still on the way), I'll switch to more specific NET threads.

Cheers!

HHV and Vermillion River both use steam distilled tobaccos from third party sources. Now, the similarities with the overall vocality of the tobacco may approximately be the same between those two vendors, but for the most part, HHV still stands alone in the overall flavor department. Actually, I think HHV's tobaccos have more tobacco presence than VR's (as a whole), but those two vendors (including Ahlusion's non-aromatic line) are some of the cleanest "burning," non-macerated natural tobacco liquids available (HHV and Ahlusion's non-aromatic line are the best for cleanliness, and then VR).

Hey cristi75 and Mr.Mann,
I'm glad to see there are even more HHV NETs for me to try (as per your list cristi75). The one's that I have (ie most of what you listed) are by far my favourite liquids so far. I hope you'll love them too! And Mr.Mann thanks for all that info. I've bookmarked this thread as useful info for my future orders. Thanks!
