My brother is a vaper now :) I sent some vape supplies to him and he can vape in his room or anywhere in the residence! I sent the simplest for him to handle by himself and that is the standard type ecig with the screw on cartridge. He loves vaping. I sent him a lanyard to wear around his neck and the ecigs that are auto. He has gripping problems and his therapist helped me decide what he would need. She is happy too :)

Very cool story! Hopefully nothing will change

I hope nothing will change either.

I work in a nursing home (I'm a nurse). Personally I'd love to see patients/residents come in and want to vape. Currently my company doesn't have a policy on it since the situation has never come up.

The nursing home my brother is in has a few other residents who were already vaping. I was surprised but they are trying to encourage people to use alternatives to smoking. Hopefully they will stay that way.

I sent casaa cards and the link for ECF for my brother to give out.

That's great news :) I started vaping when my father was still in the nursing home. I gave a LOT of vaping demonstrations to staff members. I'm not sure what ended up happening, but I know several of them were going to talk to family members of the residents that smoked hoping they would get ecigs for their loved ones so they wouldn't have to go outside in the very cold winters anymore to smoke.

I work Fire/ EMS here in Laurel County, they actually encourage residents in nursing facilities to vape. In the hospital, they give patients the option of receiving a nicotine patch or an electronic cig, not 100% how I feel about this as I don't vape on the buggy with the 99.9% medical O2, but that's more paranoia than anything.

You should make a preemptive strike on that policy. Educate and encourage vaping instead of smoking. :toast:

So they obviously allow vaping, which is fantastic!
Do they allow smoking too, or no?

Yep, but only outside and they rationed their cigarettes from the nurses station..

With the ecigs they can vape as much as they want and when they want. And can keep their ecigs and cartos with them.
Made my brother a lot happier.
