vaping = intriguing. my week in a nutshell...

Hey guys, I'm new to ECF and just wanted to say hello!!

I was a PAD smoker for 20 years, Marlboro Red was my flavor of choice up until last week. After lurking around here for about a month now, researching these forums, watching countless YouTube videos, I decided to take the plunge.

Amazingly, I'm pleasantly surprised... and for a better word, intrigued.

I'm so glad I found this forum... thanks to you guys, I think I can finally do this thing and rid myself of analog cigarettes. I've heard of the "electronic cigarette" from seeing the adverts on the web. Seeing Katherine Heigl vaping on Letterman. Seeing the blu cig at kiosks in the mall, but I was just so skeptical thinking that this was just some kind of gimmick or fad. That's until I saw how a MOD and a VV can perform.

I was a Marlboro Red smoker, full flavor... I tried Marb Mediums, too weak... Marb Lights, uhhh what's the point?? If I had to bum a smoke like a Medium or a Light, I would cut the filter in half just so I could get a harder hit off of the cigarette. So when I considered an e-cigarette, I figured "What the hell is this thing gonna do for me??"

After finding this forum and realizing how the technology has vastly improved... I went ahead and ordered a Provari. As many of you know, the lead time to receive one is 3 weeks minimum. So for the meantime, thanks to this forum and my impatience, I went ahead and ordered an ego T from Cignot. I also ordered a VapeMate, stainless steel drip tip and a pack of LR 510 atomizers from Super T Manufacturing. On top of that, I ordered a sample pack of e-juice from Alien Visions as well as the highly regarded Boba's Bounty. Unbelievably, I received all of packages in 3 days.

So when I got everything, I fired it up. And admittedly... I was kinda like, meh... it's okay... what's all the fuss about?? I still had about 15 analogs still left in my pack of smokes. So, I vaped part time and smoked part time. I still woke up craving a Marlboro Red. I just didn't believe that I could give up smoking. It's just not the same.

Last Saturday morning I was down to my last analog. Lit it up and said to myself... "This is my last true cigarette. Now I'm committed to full time vaping." The rest of the day I just vaped. Still wasn't overly impressed... but I stuck with it, understanding that there is a learning curve to this stuff.

24 hours went by without an analog and then something happened... I think my sense of taste was starting to come back and all of a sudden vaping was different. It tasted amazing. I mean, really really good. Damn good. All the juices from Alien Visions were crazy. I couldn't put Boba's Bounty down. It took me about 4 days consisting of part time vaping/smoking and 24 hours of analog freedom for my sense of taste to come back and now I am hooked.

I popped on my VapeMate with a LR 510 atty on to my ego battery. I dripped some Boba's and BOOM!! :vapor: You have my full attention now. Unreal. Unbelievable. Talk about Taste AND Vapor production!! I have NO desire to ever go back to analogs. Ever. Unless of course, e cigs get banned... but that's a whole other story I hope we never have deal with.:(

Anyways, I just wanted to share my story with you guys and to really give a humble "Thank You" to everyone here for giving me hope and a legitimate alternative to smoking. I truly never thought I could quit smoking, but now I finally found a path to freedom. It's a first step and so far a very enjoyable one.

Vicky @ Cignot, your service is incredible!! Ben @ Alien Visions... no bro, You Rock!! Dave @ Super T... your craftmanship is top notch.

So now I just can't wait for my Provari to get here. And I'm never looking back, baby. :w00t:

Thanks, you guys!!

Good story. You did good with your choice of the provari. My guess is that your next step in this transition is making eCigs as convenient as analogs (those darn analogs just work the first time, every time... and there is no maintenance.) My advice is to pop a MAP Tank on top of that provari. I find that they make a great combination.

ahh... Jarod, you read my mind!! I'm on COV's "notify me" list as we speak for that elusive MAP tank!! Can't wait, but so far the VapeMate has been treating me just fine... it's a little messy cuz its easy to flood the atty, but in time i'll learn how to use it.

thanks, Rosa!! it feels great to be here!!

Hey, I've been meaning to ask... does the vapemate come with the little piece of tubing for the bottle, or do you have to find it on your own?

Awesome story!! Sounds like you went through a lot of what my husband went through. As soon as his taste buds started to return he really got into it. I finally got my DIY flavors and stuff today, and we sat down together and mixed up and sampled flavors for an hour and a half, it was so much fun to be able to enjoy the different flavors at their fullest.
