I've been reading a lot of threads regarding government trying to control and tax e-cigarette products in the US. Hell, it's even banned in a number of countries. Also, there seems to be a stigma attached when people sees others vaping. They seem to relate a PV to illegal activities.

I'm just glad that we don't have (at least at the moment) the same problems here. I would even dare say that the Philippines is one of the most vaper friendly countries in the world.

Do you guys think we should worry that something similar might happen to us?

Who is the better online source for Philippine mods and such? I got a Mortar 5v second hand because they needed Christmas money. It was basically new. I really feel lucky. Just got a kick for it last week and I'm sure it'll be around a long time! Just in case they ban e cigs....THEY WON'T. Just going to inconvenience our hobby probably

I think that the decision made by the FDA and European countries will eventually have an impact on how the Philippines will view e-cigs. There already has been negative press with a TV segment and a write up in one of the local papers with the head of the Department of Health basically saying that e-cigs are not a good choice for tobacco harm reduction, which was very disturbing. I would have hoped that the government here would have done at least a bit of research before making such outrageous statements.

With the imposed "sin tax" increase here it is kind of a double edged sword for the vaping community...There are now more and more people who are being introduced to vaping, which is great...The downside is big tobacco might start influencing government officials to start to clamp down on e-cigs if/when they start to see their sales being affected. Another thing that worries me is if the government starts to notice the increasing number of vapers, they might try to find more ways to step in for a bigger piece of the pie. With all the other problems that are going on over here, I hope that e-cigs is not really on their priority list. The community here is great and I hope it stays that way for a long time.

yea,,the do make some very extreme claims in the news there, with a vast amount of the population having almost little to nothing in the ways of education they are very impressionable
two examples of total BS in the news

there is a new hospital somewhere around manila,,one doctor claimed it was better then most any hospital in the states on GMA news

i had a doc tell me drinking lots of water cures cancer

i chit you not !!

I just got back from the Philippines a few weeks ago and the vaping scene over there is awesome. It seems the people there are more enthusiastic about it than here in the States. That's what I love about going back because everything really is more fun in the Philippines. No one cracked down on me for vaping except the one time I was at the Ortigas MRT station and the security guard didn't like it :)
