there are studies out there if you search for them. ive ran across a handful and so far everyhing is positive. havent yet run into a study that came up with any real, hard negitave results.

further, one study determined that PG vapor sterilizes the air (!). two groups of mice were kept in separate chambers, both with the flu virus in the air. one group was given PG vapor pumped into the tank. the group without the vapor all died, the group with the vapor had zero deaths. :)

i think that if anything were to be found potentially hazardous, it would be a particular element of a flavoring. PG and VG have been around for a while, and even in some medical settings they are inhaled. also fog machines have been pumping vapor at us for numerous years. there are some strange elements in some of our flavorings. diacetyl is a hazardous one that got nipped in the bud right quick by every vendor i do business with. its used widely in the artificial butter flavoring realm: microwave popcorn beign a large patron. its relatively safe to injest by eating, but not by inhaling. youd end up with "popcorn lung", a disease that afflicts popcorn factory workers (and 1 very unlucky man who had a compulsion to inhale vapors from a fresh bag of microwave popcorn daily).

ive been told that vapng oils is not very safe either. some flavorings do contain oils, like peppermint oil for example. so itll be interesting to follow and track the results of the numerous tests that are bound to be conducted.

hi volume,...i used to vape 9mg nic...with that, i always got itchy and irritated throat, so after i lower and lower the nicotine level,..seems it got better....yeah,...all i can say, maximum nic level that my throat still tolerate was 3-6mg....

I got that for a while too, it seems like the nic sits on your throat longer, and the PG dries your throat up a bit too. I got used to it after a few weeks of vaping.

I would note that you probably actually take in less than 50% of the nic in your juice based on any studies ive seen (and unfortunately there are not a lot of them) So at 5ml of 9mg youre definitely not taking any serious nicotine risk, and we are finding more and more recent studies show that nicotine is relatively limited as far as the risks go. I think there are some vapers on here using 10ml a day of 18mg + and they seem to have no issues. I think you have plenty of headroom as far as what would be safe on a daily basis. Now this is all based on what we have learned, and not what we may learn in the years to come. But from what we have learned, it appears to be safe, and from what i feel after being off analogs for 4 months, its definitely a lot better than smoking

thanks kemosabe,...i also read those "popcorn lungs" article.....and also, i read some articles wrote that we had to use PG or VG with Pharmaceutical Grade only, never use Food Grade or Lower Grade,...because Food Grade PG/VG is still contaminated. Its safe if we drink or eat it but it is not save enough to inhale those.

I do not know about the grades of PG/VG but the vendor i use is Pharm grade, and i think it vapes cleaner =) Wordupecig.com

good point. you do infact want the pharm grade. i made the mistake of DIYing with food grade VG (i was ignorant at the time) and you can tell the difference. not health-wise, but even just vapor wise, it doesnt vape as well and feels "cloggy" in the atomizer.

same thing with liquid nicotine. there are different levels of purity, which is easily decenrable by the vaper, relatively speaking.
