I've been vaping for a few months now, dropped analogs right as I picked up my 510. I love
vaping, I keep myself hydrated as I thought that to be the problem. However for the past two Weeks any attempt at vaping had made my feel ill. I haven't switched flavors i'm still in my normal rotation, still at 18 mg. maybe it's due to my allergies acting up, but this is quite irritating, as it is something I like to do but can't. any suggestions guys?

Your system may be having a reaction to the nicotine level. Try vaping a lower nic-leveled ejuice first...like maybe 12mg. If that isn't the issue, then try switching to an all VG juice or vice versa. Some people develop or are allergic to PG. I would go through the elimination process chemical by chemical...nicotine level, PG vs VG, juice components. For example, very sweet juices tend to make me ill. Also, check out the Health Section of ECF for symptoms that may be like yours.

Health, Safety and E-Smoking

Good luck.

Hi Snuggles...

I have a few ideas, but to try and narrow down the culprit, let's look at a few places things could go wonky -

1. Bad E-Liquid: There are several ways E-Liquid can become contaminated or go rancid. This would actually be my first guess, as many 'Top Quality' e-liquids are actually pretty much homemade. ...and while they can be great, they can turn rancid practically overnight with no notice whatsoever.

So what yesterday was so inviting, can practically overnight transfrom itself into something repugnant and nauseating.

Here's a super easy 'non-technical' test - "Sniff the oil in the bottle" If the smell is inviting, it's probably okay... If it makes you scrunch your face, furrow your brow, or turn away, it might be spoiled.

Now, I try to isolate that, because you said you haven't switched flavors or got a new batch...

But if you are using cartos, or cartridges, you could also be facing the same problem...

2. PG Tolerance Threshold Reaction: This one is a little more subtle, because some people have a latent allergy to PG. I know, I know all the research say's it's supposed to be inert. Just like EVA! One in 10 people has a violent reaction to EVA, they get really sick... And the FDA mandated that as an additive to all analog smokes. Now, of course, our beloved vapors don't include EVA, but PG, just like EVA - is supposed to be innert and non-reactive. But as you read through this forum, you'll hear countless stories about how many people have reactions to it...

So here's the thing: it's called a thresehold reaction - which means, your body doesn't respond to it until after you've been exposed to it for awhile (until you reach a certain thresehold / tolerance level)... Suddenly, it becomes revolting to you, nauseating, constipating, and gives you stomach cramps, bloating, gas, and an overall wretched feel...

For most people who have this PG reaction, it doesn't happen right in the beginning (for some it does)...

So here's a simple test to see if your likely to be having a PG reaction: "Are your eyes: Sore, Dry, or Blurring?"
One of the listed side effects (from the MSDS) on PG is 'Ocular Irritation' - so if the PG is making you sick, there's a good chance it's also irritating your eyes... (not always, but often the two go together)

So write back, tell us more and maybe someone who has had a similar problem found a solution that worked for them - I have a few ideas, but if it's just rancid juice (which is my bet) it's pretty easy to sort out...

:)

I vape red bull, coffee, and "ghost mist". It might be a pg allergy, however my eyes feel fine. It's all of my liquids that do this to me. Of course they are all 80/20 pg/vg. So it may very well be the pg. because the red bull doesn't contain much vg that I know of. (tw doesn't give the ratio away). Shame, I'll try a 100% vg juice and see how that goes.

Would it offend anyone if I suggested that the simplest answer is usually the most likely?

I've had allergies all my life, nothing too serious, mind, but mine's seasonal. Fall and Spring are the worst, I get these sort of cold-like-symptoms that don't go away for several weeks to a couple months.

When I was smoking the icky-stickies, I would just ignore the pain and smoke through it. Vaping is a completely different animal, it doesn't have the serious "I NEED A VAPE!" like analogs do. So it's easy to set it aside. Because it is somewhat of an irritant, (You're pouring water vapor into your lungs) it gives you the illusion that when you don't vape for a while, you feel better.

Hope this helps,
-X

Switch flavors...start with Dekang at 24 mg. Use a normal carto to limit the amount of vapor and the density of the vapor.

I will never understand why people want heavy vapor. I guess they like to watch their $$ vanish into thin air :)

Sounds to me like your body is telling you to step down. I started at 36mg and dropped to 24mg because I had to listen to what my body was saying...then 2 months later, stepped down to 18mg and I've been happy. Since you've been vaping for 2 months already without issues, trying dropping your nic intake down.

How about just put the pv down?

It's over. You won. You are, officially, a non-smoker.

I can only hope that the same thing happens to me. Last thing I want is being addicted to something else..lol It's just a toy at this point, anyway. It ceased being a tool some time ago...congradulations. :)
