My low supplies of nicotine cartomizers is making me really conscious of how much I vape. Now I know that the suppliers say these cartos are approx equal to 2 packs of cigarettes, approx 40.
I smoked 25-30 per day of 2mg menthols - so how come I'm now getting through 1-2 cartomizers and cycling through 3 shorty battery chargers per day???

Sometimes maybe it's just the flavour is sooo great I want more. Sometimes it's so guilt free that I really enjoy & want to keep vaping. But overall, I'm don't think I vape as much as I smoked.

Is this a fairly common experience? Should I consider increasing my nicotine level, would that help? Or am I just addicted to vaping?

I chain vape unless i'm at work. I find the 24mg does the trick too. I think when you first stop smoking the cravings are pretty bad so a high nic level will help. I was addicted to the nicotine gum but vaping has got me off that so it wasn't like I had just quit smoking but I was chewing alot, looked a bit like a cow which isn't an image I wanted to keep, so now I look like a steam train instead, cool!:)

I also find that I vape much more than I ever smoked. For one thing, my lungs could never handle the amount of smoke I would put into them if I smoked as much as I vape. I find the mouth feel of the vapor to be very satisfying, and the flavors I vape are some of my favorite flavors, so that may have something to do with my vaping more than smoking. I also would not rely on the stats that the sellers give regarding the equivalent number of ciggies. Somehow those stats just did not make much sense to me. I also think you are correct in saying that the guilt free quality of vaping may have something to do with our vaping more. Suddenly we are free to do something enjoyable without fear of causing ourselves or our neighbors major damage.

I believe those claims come more from a stand point of hits per carto versus the nic level absorbed.....and they are using the number of puffs of a regular sized ciggy...the kings, not the 100's or 120's of some brands. You have to remember that when smoking, it is not just nicotine getting absorbed and I think that plays a big part in the claims being thought of as false....because we do not get the same full feeling and chest pains that we'd get from smoking too much.

Just my :2c: on the matter:p

Ms. Katz it's a number of factors why people usually vape more than they smoked (from what I've read, seen, and experienced, most people tend to). Ms. Keelalagirl is correct, a big part is a cig has a buttload (anywhere between 1000-4000) chemicals designed to break down your cells to allow the nicotine to prenetrate the blood brain barrier faster. A cig will give you an automatic dose, where it takes a few seconds for it to kick in with vaping. It's why I tell people to take a few puffs when you first start craving, not waiting until you're having a full on nic fit... This of course leads to more vaping in itself.... Another key factor is the fact that smoking looked down upon, and not allowed in a lot of places, and vaping isn't... You can sit at home and vape and vape and no one's the wiser if they come over. That gives it a too good to be true feeling so it must be bad, which of course makes you do it more... If you want to cut back, then higher nicotine can help with that... Or just make you more addicted... :)

The info they tell you as to 1 cart= so many packs is just crap in my opinion...I vape way more than I smoked the nasties..I can't help it I love the flavors ! But,I'm also down to 4mg & 0 mg so I don't care, LOL

Yep. Just this. Well said, and all that. :)

EDIT: katz, I realized I didn't answer your question. I used to worry about how much I vaped, and didn't want to take in more nicotine than I smoked, and yada, yada, yada...then I stopped worrying about it when I realized how much better I felt. My lungs felt better, my sinuses felt better, my blood pressure improved, my voice sounded better.

I also know you have a shortage on your supplies right now. Raise your nic levels, if you're worried about quantity, but otherwise, my best advice is, get your stock up, relax, and enjoy the vape! :)
