I couldn't find many threads talk about this - but I quit smoking 1st Feb. My initial attempt for almost 3 weeks was around the use of Nicorette (8-9 pieces of 4MG). I started vaping around the 4th week - 11MG. First few days I was vaping primarily in the evenings (no gum usage once I begin vaping). This weekend I relied primarily around vaping (no gums all of Sat and Sun).

However, weekdays - I have been mixing vaping and gums. I vape when am at home and rely on gums when I am at work. Not very comfortable going to smoking zones and vaping yet. I seem to be doing roughly 4-5 gums of 4MG and about 1 ml of 11MG during the time I am at home.

Over the weekend, I did about 2ml of 11MG over the entire day.

The primary concern around vaping and gum usage seems to be around over dosing. But around 20-30mg/day doesn't really seem like a case of overdosing. Especially when most people here seem to be doing around 3ml of 11mg+ strength.

Anything else I need to be vary of?

Thanks

No, it won't be a problem. This last time I quit (yes even old timers have problems too!) I was in constant pain and I was using the patch, vaping about 10ml of 9mg and using the gum to get over the rough spots.
If you start feeling dizzy and/or wanting to throw up, it's time to cut back on something! The human body doesn't want you to overdose so this is your warning sign it's time to slow down.
Good luck, it gets easier with time.

the actual absorption of nic from vaping (and probably the Nicorette also) is about 25 to 33% less than actual smoking so I would not think there are any worrys

also you are spreading it out of the entire day so it does have a chance to leave your system

Trust me you will know if you over do the nic as there are definite physical signs you will experience - for me it is dizziness, nausea, and headache

Listen to your body. If you feel like you're getting too much, just stop.

I never had any luck with Nicorette so I don't have much experience with it. It always felt very harsh and bitter to me and made me woozy.

Vaping is more fun. And nicotine delivery and absorption are much slower compared to the gum, at least in my memory.

Thanks all - yes vaping is much more fun. Like this weekend, I was at home mostly and relied just on vaping. Did not resort to gums. However, at work, I still have some issues vaping. So I need an alternative.

Right now vaping is the preferred mode with gums as an alternative to vaping during work hours :).

With gums, I had a craving for an analog every now and then. Vaping has almost killed that craving. I did not crave at all during the weekend and even while having 4-5 drinks :)

The only real safety concern is if you're doing both simultaneously. If you read the safety warnings, replace "smoking" with vaping and you're sure to be 100% safe. I always used the rule of thumb to wait an hour after using an NRT before going to any other nicotine delivery method, that way you're sure to avoid problems, since nicotine has a fairly short half-life when absorbed into the body through any method (which is part of its addictive properties).

I use 5+ml of 24mg juice a day. no issues at all. also using both at the same time shouldnt be an issue as i used to smoke and chew at the same time alot. the amount of nic you would have to ingest at one time to cause issues really isnt possible to do unless your using pure nic or using it in a way that is not intended.
