I agree. It's too bad some online "vitriol" won't stop them -- now they're back in the media calling all who disagree with their lies "Big Vapor".... ok, I'm Big Vapor, where's that paycheck???

Really loved that Carl Phillips article about how they think WE are all being paid to say nasty things to them, because THAT'S ALL THEY KNOW. This is a very true observation about human psychology; the reason why honest people can be conned is because they expect everyone to be as honest as they are.

But this entire debacle just points up the utter sickness of our whole society; if there's a problem -- say, cigarette smoking -- then the cure for the problem MUST be medical! They keep trying to put the square peg of tobacco addiction into their very-restrictive round hole of medicine, and when it doesn't fit, just ignore it and keep flogging all those totally-useless "medical cures." Same thing with depression -- those TV commercials talking about how if your antidepressant pill isn't working well enough, just TAKE ANOTHER PILL! Nevermind getting off your depressed .... and getting some exercise, letting some natural serotonin flow, no, it must be MORE MEDICINE! Imbeciles! I holler at that commercials as loudly as I holler at the Chantix/Nicorette commercials -- "GO OUTSIDE AND DO SOME GARDENING!! YOU'LL FEEL BETTER!!!"

TC has had it pretty good for over a half century. Complete control of the narrative other than some squeaks out of the smokers who dared to voice opposition. Then along came the internet and all that slowly changed. Now MSM has lost a lot of its power as the singular voices can be heard globally. It's still an unfair battle as the money and power still rests with them, however, there no longer is silent obedience. And the noise gets louder.

What he did is a "personal attack" - which usually means you're at the end of the rope, with no legitimate avenues left in sustaining your pov.

On top of it he resorted to name calling. Which is the lowest one could possibly go.
