Hey guys

I'm finding vaping really harsh, when I inhale, the TH almost hurts, unless I take a drag for about 1/4 of a second only.

Howevber, because someone gave me the juice I'm using, I'm not sure of the vg/pg ratio. Based on what I've seen on the website it came from it appears to be either 100% PG, or 80%pg/50%vg.

I have some ordered from FSUSA that is 50pg/50VG. Is that likely to be as harsh? Can you remind me which one does the throat hit (although I don't know if I'd even call it a throat hit - It feels awful) and which one does the vapor?

I want so much to love vaping. Can you help?

PG and nicotine are the TH. Also being new to vaping, many of us experienced sore throats. Just seems like something we go through but it passes. Did you clean your atomizers before using? They are filled with primer and can cause troat irritation. Blow them out into a paper towel, drip a couple drops of juice onto the bridge in the atomizer, replace your cart, and try it again.

100%PG can be really harsh and that is where the TH comes from. but it takes very little VG to take that hard hit out, 50/50 should not hurt your throat unless you are allergic to PG.

Some other things it could be, a dry atty creates a terrible burning sensation in the throat that almost makes your eyes water. Make sure your atty is wet. Too much nicotine also gives a stronger TH that can hurt a little but not nearly like a dry atty. Some people are very sensitive to some flavors cinnamons mints and tobaccos with a lot of smoke flavor can TH hard too. As well as vaping is a lot like beginning smoking its similar but it is something new hitting your throat it may just be that it will take a few days to get used to the new sensation. I choked on the vapor for 3 days.

All above is right, but you should tell us what kind of hardware you are using and how long you using it, it would help us to better understand what problem could be

Thanks guys. I've got an eGo with cartridges (not a tank style). Really appreciate all the advice.

For info: My throat doesn't hurt afterwards, just when I actually inhale.

Thanks for offers of assistance. I'm so new, and I really appreciate advice from people who have "been there".

eta: Just noticed error in my first post. I'm assuming it's either 100% PG, or 80pg and 20VG, NOT 80pg/50vg, as that would be mathematically amazing!

That really sounds like a dry atty. Even when your atomizer is dry it will still make some vapor and have a little flavor to it. You may not notice it is dry right away it takes time to get used to the changes as it begins to dry out. Keep topping off your cart often and that should take care of the problem.

I got rid of the primer, so it's not that (but thanks for suggesting it). I'll see if my atty is dry. My carts are definitely full, so that's not it, but could it cause a problem if the filler is not all the way at the top of the cart?

What you describe sounds like what I'm suffering CCB - terrible inhale, small vapor, small flavour.

Quick update.

Thank you so much. Tried all the suggestions, plus used a different juice (my supplier gave me one of hers) and am now good to go. I think I had indeed burned the filler on my cart. Plus the juice was a bit yucky. No harshness, no awful aftertaste. I'm good to go. YAY!

Appreciate everyone's help.
