I'm not optimistic, but has anyone used vaping to try and quit another physical habit? Such as chewing finger nails or ice (both of which I do). Like every time you get the urge to bite a nail or eat a piece of ice, or something else, take a hit instead?

I vape for fun (zero nicotine of course, bc I'm not a past smoker) but I wonder if it's worth a try to see if I can benefit something with it.

Comments, opinions, experiences welcome :)

Why not? if you're vaping 0 nic and it helps you relax I see nothing wrong with that. There are people who vape to curb their urges to snack, for instance.

Hand-to-mouth behavior is an instinctual--even fetuses suck their thumbs in-utero. It's a survival skill and I believe we're all hard-wired for that.

Enjoy!

Thanks! That's along the lines of what I was thinking, since all the mentioned activities, including vaping, involves the mouth.

I know a man who lost a lot of weight by vaping (zero nic), our distributor took some of his favorite food samples (pizza & subs) & created a special blend for him. He's lost over 70 pounds so far, as the flavor of the vape satisfies his urges to eat.

That's pretty cool! I've also wanted to quit drinking sodas (I love the taste) and might try to quit by getting the taste from vaping, but the part I'd surely miss most is the carbonation.

Two of my bad old habits (besides smoking) were biting the nails and eating unreal amounts of ice. Stopped biting my nails when I removed the toxic from my relationship at that time....stopped eating the ice once I found out why I was eating it....I was anemic and you crave it? It hurt my teeth also.........since vaping I've lost 26 pounds without trying!

I'm thinking Iron deficiency or anemia could be my problem, but iron pills make me sick. And there's no breaks in my habit either, I continuously chew it if I can get my hands on it. I've always chewed my nails, whether the situation was bad or good.

I'm glad to hear that it's helped you :D
