Howdy Folks:

I've been on ecigs for almost four months now, but having the hardest time making these gizmos last. First it was the TRex that lasted about four weeks. Then I went to the Evolution X, actually bought two starter kits. Worked great for two months...died. First I thought it was cheap products then maybe the batteries just never last. Then I thought the atomizers clog too fast. Tried all sorts of cleaning methods from alcohol to vinegar and baking powder.

Bottom line is these things do not last! Now I bought the Vintage Joye 510 thinking maybe the salesman (local store) could be right that the others were "just knockoffs." Thinking again how could they actually be that different in quality? Very similar functions materials etc.

The only conclusion I'm reaching now is perhaps I'm vaping too much. Love the great vapor hit then I want more. It's to the point I may vape continuously for an hour, every 45 to 60 seconds. Am I burning out the atomizers by doing so? I just started the Joye and would prefer this thing to last without buying more stiff for 3-4 months. Am I expecting too much?

Just curious what others spend and the lifespan of their products.

Thanks

yep its time to step up and get a mod... you have decided you would rather vape than smoke so get a good set up.... maybe start with a nice 3.7v mechanical mod and some cheap cartos..."cartomizers" I would go with a Roughstack maybe or something similar...its around the same price you are paying for kits and will last...all you have to spend after that is 30 dollars a year on batteries, whatever juice you want...and some cartos.... or atties...just remember to keep your attys wet but not to wet..and they will last and last and last...I had a smoktech 901 atty last me 5 monthes on a provari.... thats kicking it,,,,

I have a RoughStack using 18650 batteries that I used while waiting for my Reos. It's a great mod and a workhorse. The only thing I have against it is that the button is on the top. It gets in the way of using a tank or CEs etc. You could get a 510 to 510 adapter for it, but I'm not sure that would give you enough clearance for carto tanks and I think as a heavy vaper carto tanks are definitely in your future.

It sounds like you are having trouble with your devices dying and your atomizers not lasting as long as you'd like.

As far as your devices dying, I would recommend that you get a solid mod that works with standard batteries. I'm partial to the prodigy v3 but you should probably look around for one that suits your preferences. There are tons of great devices out there.

I'm not sure what you can do about your atomizers dying. Sometimes its the juice that clogs up atomizers/cartomizers. You might want to try staying away from dark, oily, natural extract juices and see if that helps. If you haven't tried cartomizers yet I would give them a shot. I've been using boge cartomizers almost exclusively for a while now and love them.

Hi kdfisher and welcome to ECF. It may be that you need to upgrade but I also wonder if your nicotine level is too low because after 4 months you shouldn't feel the need for chain vaping. It could also be you're sacrificing TH and Lung Hit for vapor. The common ratios for juice are 70/ 30 PG/ VG or 80/ 20 PG/ VG. Manual Batteries also make a big diff in the vaping experience.
Pg= TH, Lung Hit and Flavor enhancer
VG= Vapor
Nicotine= TH, Lung Hit and our need for nicotine.
What is your juice nic level and what ratio are your juices?

Great help folks. Now it's just a matter of getting over the terminology. One would think vaping is simple stuff, but danged it gets complicated! I think I'll try to cut down on the intervals of vaping just to see if that's the cause, but I'm inclined to think so as the atomizers get hot very quickly. As a matter of fact I was turned on to cartomizers two days ago and two have already died. Guy said each would last about two weeks.

Yes it's fine to dilute juice but at the same time you'll be diluting the flavor and nic level. So if you've diluted the 18 mg by 25% you now 13.5 mg. When you see a term here-PG, VG, PGA and it's underlined hover your mouse over it and an explanation will pop up.
Here's an Ecig dictionary with most terms:

Vapoor:

I've actually been cutting 18 mg juice with store bought VG(CVX brand) to the point it's 25% juice and 75% VG. I just got some of the PG to see how that works.

Also what percentage PG/VG are you using? If your eliquid is high in VG, since VG is so thick, it might not be wicking fast enough to keep the carto wet.

If you were dripping with the attys, you would only get 3 or 4 puffs before having to drip again, so maybe the atty also was not getting enough juice to stop it from burning out........

That would be harsh and give no vapor. Take a small amount and try adding 10%/ VG to it. Try maybe 10 drops of the 24 pg and 1 drop of the Vg and mix well. If there's not enuff vapor try another 10% VG

Okay...Trying something different to see if it's the nic level. Using straight 24mg PG while alternating with the 25-75 mix. Problem is I don't like that setup because it's so strong and offers little vapor.
