One thing I've found is that it up to each person. In Minnesota where I am, 16mg is about the most common strength that you will find. 1-2ml a day is about the norm here using a pen style clearomizer. As a general rule, whatever amount keeps you off the analog sticks and keeps you happy, then that's the right amount for you.

As for me, in a clearmizer, at 16mg, I go through about 2ml a day. If I'm using an rda, at 0-1mg, I can go through 4-6ml in a couple hours. Using the Atlantis tank only for the day, I go through 8-10ml at 2.5mg. With a kayfun, at 10mg, I go through about 5ml a day.

Ive been vaping about 4ml every two days give or take a ml. And its around 8mg nicotine. I was wondering if this was a bit much or just normal for a recent quitter?

Try vaping 12-18 mg of nicotine. Ihave been vaping for a year and a half and 12 is my sweet spot. If I go lower I just vape more juice.

Using my Nautilus mini, I would go from 2-4 ml per day @ 24 mg. Now using my Kanger sub tank, about 8 ml of 6 mg nic. If I use my mech mod with an RDA, I could see going through 10-20 ml @ 6 mg per day. They all use diff amounts due to more power and heat. My dad usually run about 6 ml a day @ 36 mg/ml nic but he smokes about 3 packs a day. I agree as mention above, what ever works for you and keeps you from smoking analogs is perfectly normal. Your body will let you know what is too much :)

I have only started vaping 8 days ago and went from 1.5 - 2 packs of Marlboro light onto an 18 mg nic. Since I pretty much chain vaped in front of the PC I soon discovered that my ears started ringing and I felt slightly fain so I went down to 12 which was great at around about 3.5 ml a day.

I am beginning to think that I can start lowering the nic soon and will vary the amount of nic in the juice until I am fully content with the lower amount.

to ecf NDxEAGLE. Nice to meet you and so glad you are here. Just love it here myself. The answer to your question all depends on what type smoker you were and how much nicotine you require to remain smoke-free. I was a heavy smoker and I vape around 9 mls a day and I use 24mg nic juice. I personally believe that people who are new to vaping should use a higher than normal nic in order to fight any urges for cigarettes. Just my opinion. The person can always lower their nic later after the adjustment period is over and they are comfortable vaping. Good luck to you and happy vaping. Look forward to reading about your success. As you can see, ecf is sort of like a family. So, make yourself at home.

Vape at a level you are comfortable with, by that I mean you are not craving a smoke. Don`t be to quick to drop the nic levels, it is a quick way to find yourself smoking again. Good read here - The Great Nicotine Myth

Excellent point. From all I've seen around here over the past year, nowadays when I hear of someone "quitting vaping," or dropping down to 0mg when they've only been vaping a few months, my first thought is, well, see ya back here after you decide to put the smokes down again and return to vaping.

Nicotine is NOT THE BAD GUY. Nicotine may in fact be the LEAST harmful thing available from cigarettes, so don't be in a hurry to get rid of it; it's not the sole thing in cigarettes that got us addicted, and for some of us, it's not the sole thing we need in order to abstain from cigarettes, but it's a biggie. If your consumption of nicotine doesn't have you facedown over the toilet or suffering other negative side effects, then it's not hurting you, and it won't hurt you, at least, not any worse than the coffee or other caffeinated beverages that most people consume like water. And a high enough dose of it on a regular basis may prevent you from feeling any need to go back to smoking. Let your own body guide you as to the correct level to use; you might find, over time, that you require less of it to feel normal, but it doesn't happen quickly, and the longer you smoked, the longer it will take for your brain to figure out that maybe it doesn't need so much of it anymore.

Just today somebody posted a barrage of horrible effects proven by research that nic was guilty of, scary stuff,
So I humbly disagree with a few posters here, nobody here knows, unless we have MD's in the house or Prof's,
All I/we can do is speak of our own experience, after all we are on proving grounds for the most part.

I went strait to 0mg, I am now vaping less then before,
Spent a whole week next to smokers in a closed studio last week and nada, did not even feel like it,
I am vaping for 5 months now...

So many factors to consider, individualistic factors that is, ones discipline, amounts smoked prior to quitting, mental, emotional and physical health, etc. etc. etc.
But alas, who wants to live forever, I certainly don't, but I would like a healthy senior age, I want my son to inherit my estate not BP.

"Proven by research"??? And who exactly paid for that research? Anyone who says that nicotine, in the doses we use it, is capable of a "barrage of horrible effects" is full of BS, and is laughing all the way to the bank, courtesy of the ANTZ that paid for that pseudo-research.

Go read this whole site: E-Cigarette Politics and then come back and tell us what you've learned.
