Vaping using Stainless Steel Wire

I have no idea about the fishing wire, but some vapers use Beadalon 316L SS jewelry wire.
Just alcohol and paper towels. Just to remove any machine oil, graphite, or other gunk that comes from manufacturing.
Also, ignore the other guy. SS is fine for vaping, but it's probably more suited for TC devices.
Just curious. Why would anybody use ss wire? It's not resistance wire.
How is TC going to work with SS, when it's calculating based on the known resistance of particular metals (nickel) to estimate the temperature? I'd expect SS would totally fail a TC controller.

Lol, Kanthal costs like $4.25 for 100 feet and free shipping - that's about what, almost $0.03 worth of wire in a coil?

Kanthal resistance wire is not expensive.
There are some tanks designed for using steel coils.
If you don't have such a setup and merely use steel coils on a poor battery you might end up like one of the guys with a hole in their face.
As far as im concern, they use it as replacement for khantal..the resistance varies depend on the SS sizes..or in this case "lbs"
Ss is fine for vaping, but i personally wouldnt use any from a fishing store. It produces a better flavor, and can be dry fired. Anyone remember gplat? Theres a reason why alot of tank manufacturers are switching to ss wire like aspire, smok, and uwell. Its hard to find a good 316l wire, i know ud sells it though. There is actually a guy in west virginia who is acquiring 316l from a canadian company and he plans to release it for mass sale in the near future. I would not use the beadalon stuff. Temp control should work fine if a mod has a nickel purity adjustment setting and the smok xcube2 has a new update to use ss wire in temp control. The resistance tends to fall between kanthal and nichrome, the steam engine even has an option to calculate for the resistance.

SS316L Works just fine for vaping. I have been using it for a long time now. It was marketed to people as Gplat. It has a much lower resistance than kanthal. its very soft and easy to coil with.
With 26g 316l ss wire you need about 8 wraps with a 3mm id to reach about .3 ohms with a dual coil setup.
