Hi all, this might be a daft question but please humour me?

I started vaping 4 months ago and noticed after about a week that I was feeling tired/shattered/pooped all the time even after a good nights sleep. The weight started creeping on too, and although I'm prone to a bit of weight gain in Winter (less salads ha ha), never have I gained a stone in 4 months and I've been watching what I eat for about a month now!!

So, I went to see my Doctor who tested me for the usual suspects - underactive thyroid, diabetes and anemia but they've come back clear, but it's starting to get me down so I've done some internet searching....and think it's all linked to dehydration?? I'm not overly thirsty but apparently it can cause both tiredness and weight gain??

Has anyone else experienced any of these as I've read vaping can cause dehydration...any input appreciated.

Cheers:unsure:

I know the tiredness can be linked back to dehydration, but am unsure about the weight gain. The only real way to know is to up your intake of fluids, preferably water, stay away from caffeinated or alcoholic drinks, and see how it goes.

Also, if it doesn't right itself in a few months have another thyroid panel run along with a TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) and request a copy of your labs. Many ex smokers discover hidden thyroid disorders after they've quit. tobacco smoke contains several alkaloids, with anatabine being the newest one they're looking into. They have recently found that anatabine suppresses the autoimmune and inflammatory responses, and I wouldn't doubt that there might be others. You can definitely have hypothyroid symptoms and still be within the "normal" range. In fact, most labs set the high end of their range well above what is normal for a thyroid sufferer. If you need help interpreting your lab numbers, drop me a PM with results and ranges and I can help you with it.

Very true StormFinch. You must be a whole health practioner! For me it was an 8 year on going thing with 3 such lab test at my request due to reading and reading. They got me on antidepressants and I question to this day if that was needed and now I seem to be addicted to them but that is a long
One story and I am in act getting off them again on my own slowly to have a look see what happens I swear if it's the last thing I accomplish I want off them.
BUT, back to the thyroid I went again for acupuncture on a shoulder neck back thing and the guy prescribed my the armor non synthetic thyroid because I told him about all that and it made a very big difference! I'm had to switch to synthetic because some kind of consistency of product or something and it was the solution at the time. Still take it.
