When I was recently in the emergency room, at first I was in far too much pain to worry about vaping, though I had my PV in my purse. After they gave me the morphine and I caught up on the rest I'd missed for the previous 24 hrs because of the pain, when I woke up I was desperate for a vape, and by then, the pain had eased enough that I could actually get up off the gurney and get the vape -- that's my own personal test, if I can't get up to get it, I don't need it -- if I can get up and get it myself, then I freaking deserve it! :D The door was closed, since there was some other trauma case being brought in, so I stealth vaped. I have no idea what the rules are in this state, county, town, or that hospital, but I didn't feel like asking and maybe being denied, since I was kinda stuck there until they decided to get the stupid appendix out of me. I know that the Ga university system has banned all smoking AND vaping on any campus, anywhere in the state, so I fear the hospitals won't be far behind.

I too am shocked that hospitals are allowing vaping, when all of the other institutions are running to ban it. I work in a hospital and our organization is getting ready to explicitly ban it. Reactionary.

Just got back from California, and noticed several public shopping places/amusement parks put signage up the says Smoke and Vapor free facility. I think the main reason these policies pop into place is that the fearmongers see people vaping, they don't understand what it is, it looks like smoke, and they get all wigged out and complain. I also don't think the whole ecig naming convention helps either. People hear "cig" and think you're doing the same exact thing electronically that you were with combustion. Also with the look-alike, little ecigs. From an enforcement standpoint, it's hard to tell from a distance and the enforcers of the rules/laws don't want the hassle of trying to distinguish steam from smoke.
