How well does this work out with ya'll? My girlfriend is coming down with a cold and vaping seems to irritate her throat where as normally a regular cigarette doesnt. Awhile back when i was sick i had the same problem. I was still smoking cigarettes at that time and i could smoke those, but couldnt vape without coughing? She, unfortunately, has started smoking again. She still vapes and it trying(somewhat) to quit the nasties. The cold isnt helping matters much. I dont think its an excuse to smoke, as i experienced the same thing and wasn't using it as an excuse at the time. Honest lol.

Neither smoking or vaping will have a positive effect on someone who is ill. If she's going to smoke and vape - or even smoke or vape - while ill with any respiratory ailment, she's going to get better at her body's own pace.

I think we may very well have found the cure to smoking tobacco, but I'm p. sure the common cold still has no cure.

I had some bad colds while in my transition from smoking to vaping. I couldn't stand vaping and only craved for cigarettes, so on those few days I kept smoking and vaped very little. Since I've completely switched to vaping around three months ago, I haven't had a cough or cold, I just realized. I'm only 25 though and I can say my immune system is still strong.

About the 'excuse' you were saying, yeah, I can totally relate. For some reason having a cold used to make want to smoke more, both during the aforementioned transition phase and when I was still a smoker.

When I was vaping nic all the time I had a bottle of 0 mg juice to use when I was sick and the nic irritated my throat. I had no irritation with the 0 mg juice. I few hits with the nic juice throughout the day to keep the nic cravings away and the rest of the day vaping with the 0 mg juice worked well for me until I was feeling better. :)

I got my first cold since I started vaping as I write this. I'm vaping still and yes it does irritate my throat a little, mostly when I go to bed and try and fall asleep is noticed.

Feels better than when I smoked though. Had a good run so far without getting sick. Just too many kids in my family have colds right now, it was bound to happen. And the cold seems to be not lasting nearly as long as before.

I've had a few colds since I started vaping last year. I started at 18 mg nicotine and have been at zero nic since the beginning of this year. I used to always smoke when I had a cold and it made the cold worse. Since I started vaping I have always continued to vape through colds and they last much less time than before. It didn't bother me with nic or without it now. I do pull vapor into my mouth and then inhale, not straight into my lungs. I have a theory that the PG being antimicrobial helps a bit, but have no proof of that. Hope your girlfriend gets better soon :thumb:
