I don't mind smoke unless I'm in a really enclosed space -- and it's someone else's smoke! I've always had a weird thing of waking up if someone was smoking in a nearby room while I was sleeping, I guess just some lizard brain survival instinct thing. And it often bugged me if someone smoked in the same room while I wasn't because say I was sick or something. But I have no problem sharing outdoor smoking areas with smokers and bars smelled a hell of a lot better when people smoked in them. As far as the politics of it go, eh, I can agree that people vaping unflavored juice should be able to vape just about anywhere within reason, but who the .... wants to smell all those sweet, perfumy, candy-like juices so many people seem to inexplicably like? I, also, think more liquid companies should offer juices which create minimal to no vapor for stealth and just politeness.

Who the ... wants to smell all those sweet, perfumy, candy-like odors so many people inexplicably bathe themselves in after taking a shower? I, also, think more deodorant and perfume companies should offer low-odor alternatives. :)

Seriously, though, if we're going to legislate things because they have the potential to slightly annoy other people, can we start with mandating noise-reducing muffles on loud people? Mandatory Febreeze to smokers? What do we do about body odor? Where does it end?

There is a lot of legislation regarding perfumes in the workplace and there's a reason people aren't generally allowed to smoke cigars in designated smoking areas. No one wants to smell it. I don't pretend to have an allergy nor get migranes nor whatever the same idiots who fake cough when they smell a burning cigarette do, but cologne and perfume are generally gross as are the odors (not to mention tastes) produced by sweet vapes. I'd much prefer to smell sexy armpits than rancid chemical fake fruit and baked goods and perfume.

I'm going today to spend time with my best friend. Everyone in her house smokes and every time I come home I have to strip and wash everything I wore there. She doesn't get that if she would just spend a little extra this week on an PV she wouldn't have to spend any the rest of the month but she keeps saying I can't afford it right now and she smokes more than I ever did in a week. Her math logic makes me crazy too. She's like I only spend 6 dollars a day. And I'm like ok add that up she says but I don't spend it all at once. So she feels she's spending less because she only spends it once a day. UGH makes me nuts. I told her last night that as long as she keeps making excuses she's not ready.

I vape outside with the smokers because they are my friends and I used to smoke with them and I still want to hang out with them when I vape. I just stand on the side their smoke isn't floating and I get to socialize. I don't mind the laws and when it comes to vaping if it's cold outside I just don't vape. I let them go freeze and I hang out inside. It would be nice is people would stop saying it's the same thing though.

Every time I vape in a smoking area, I get questions. It's a great place to educate people about ecigs. They are curious about ecigs because it's obvious to them that it's not a cigarette.

I've never been an anti-smoking nazi during the times I quit in the past. Sometimes, cigarette smoke smells great and other times it stinks. The worst smell is an ashtray with two dozen stale butts in it. Once, my wife decided that our ashtrays were stinking up the house, so she started dumping them into a metal Folger's can instead of the trash can. That was fine until a few days later. We'd take the top off the Folger's can and the stench would blow us away. Yuck ...

I don't know about the former (that's personal preference), but the latter really shouldn't happen if you're using good juices. Life's too short and juice is too cheap to vape stuff that smells bad. :)

It's a "poverty mentality". And, sometimes it's poverty. When I was in college, and broke-azz po' - I had to walk to the local laundromat and wash my clothes once a week. Back then, if you didn't have laundry detergent, you had to buy one little box of Tide (one wash only) for $1, then drop another buck in the coin op machines for every load. Once I got a job and had some money, I bought a washer and dryer and would drive to the store and pick up 64 load bottles of Tide for under ten bucks! It not only takes money to make money, it takes money to save money.

Even if your friend is rich, I get her not accounting for how little smoking costs at only $6 a pack, too. I still cringe a bit when I have to order $30 worth of juice every couple of weeks. LOL

In the end, you are right, "as long as she keeps making excuses she's not ready...." That's the bottom line.

I'd venture to say you are nearly alone in your preferences.
:)

And really isn't that the point?

You have your preferences and I have mine.
And nobody should have the right to legislate any of these things.

Well, at least until we determine once and for all which preferences are right and proper and acceptable.
;)

I can't stand near smokers because watching someone smoke an analogue is still like cigarette porn to me. As for vaping where smoking is banned, I really don't want to bring negative attention to vaping. If enough mothers complain that they're children are seeing "smokers" smoking in places that smoking is banned (because from an outsider, vaping looks like smoking) then they will complain, and if TWO uneducated mothers complain, vaping might be banned. But is that is the liberal view, isn't it? I'm supposed to be a conservative. But I think I'd rather conserve my ability to vape than conserve and assert my right to vape publicly, and then potentially lose that right by doing so. I don't know. I'm probably just a paranoid thinker.

Very good points.

Vape on!
