Hi everyone. I have been smoking since I was 17 years old and I am now 57. I decided to stop smoking and now I use these metal vapour sticks. I never suffer from headaches normally but now I have this headache every day and it seems to be like a migraine. It must be the E cigg that is causing it. Please help!

So when did you switch? About a week ago?

It's probably too much nicotine;
it could also be a tight draw / tight airflow.

What's the nic content of your juice? When I first started I went with the recommendation of the guy who sold me my first vape, 18mg, and it was just too much. I could not handle it, and I'd been a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker, red killers, 100mm. I'm making my own juice now, 10mg, and that's working fine for me.

Hi Geraldine. Welcome to the ECF.

Sorry to hear you are not doing well. A couple of Questions.

How long has it been since you Stopped Smoking?
What Type of e-Cigarette are you using?
What Type of e-Liquid(s) are you using? PG/VG? Nicotine mg's?
How much Water (or other Liquids) do you Normally Drink in an average day?

Did you recently quit smoking? Quitting smoking has all sorts of side effects headaches being one of them, while vaping helps with the cravings you may want to take some tylenol for the headaches, the headaches disappeared after a couple days for me.
I have tried loads of pain killers and they help for a while. The E ciggs are causing the pain I think. I am now 9 weeks off real ciggs! Maybe it is withdrawel symptoms from nicotene .

Vaping will help you quit by delivering the nicotine but you are also going to suffer withdrawl for the thousands of other chemicals that are in cigarettes. Just give it a couple of weeks and it does get better. Be sure to drink plenty of water also.
completely agree, maoi's being the big one I think, there's basically anti-depressants in cigarettes, quitting smoking literally makes you depressed, who would have thunk it?

try drinking a bit more water, 8oz in the morning before coffee, 8oz at lunch and before bed, coffee, juice, milk anything else doesn't count.

Glycerin is hygroscopic, it's actually used in quite a few high end moisturizers, how it works is it pulls moisture from surrounding tissue to hydrate where the glycerin is applied, while technically it doesn't dehydrate you because your body still holds the moisture you may need to have more just water in your system..

Second hand smoke makes people look old and leathery, second hand vape makes people skin look young and supple ^__^

@Geraldine. - I had headaches early on, too. I discovered I was getting mine for 2 reasons: The reason for a slight, pretty steady, headache I got each time I vaped was because the PG in my eliquids needed to be lowered for me. I started ordering 40PG/60VG and it stopped the steady slight ones. Only other times I would get 1 was infrequently, but pretty bad immediately upon vaping. I found those had been because there was ethyl alcohol in my liquid I was vaping then. Once I learned to let it evaporate off before vaping it, I was good to go. No more headaches since then!

Metal sticks... I'm guessing it's those vuse ecigs, which have 48 mg nicotine! I remember trying one and they gave me headache, and I was nausea. Never have that problem when I switched to an Aspire Nautilus and mvp 20 watt.
I am using 24 mg/ml and it's called Nicofresh. Thanks everyone for being so helpful but the headache still persists!
