Vapor and fishtanks

I was vaping while looking at my fish tank the other day and started to notice when I blew vapor over the top it would sizzle. It only happens when I blow the vapor over the bubbles from where the filter is.

This is kind of a random question but figured maybe somebody would have an idea what causes the sizzle.

Statement: I can't see why that would be the case, perhaps the PG or VG is having a reaction with the charcoal particles from the filtration system? I'll have to test on my own fishtank.

I used to have (well still do, but not set up) a 125 gallon tank with loads of freshwater stuff in there, but budget cuts forced me to shut it down. Can't wait to have it set up again someday. I imagine putting it in a partition type wall so it's visible from both sides.....

I feel cheated. Had to go try it, mine doesn't sizzle. Sounds like it could have been little micro pops from the condensed vapor falling and popping your bubbles.

Confirmation: I have a 50 gallon fish tank with 2 bubble charcoal filtration tubes in it and I didn't notice any sizzling action going on when I vaped and blew the vapor directly near the tubes. Do you have a saltwater based tank? Mine's freshwater.

Or more pertinent...what are you vaping? Mine was 100% PG juice.

Love to vape while tankin...i have a 75 gall amazon bio tope....with co2...its my other passion...never noticed the fizz tho

i fear than in your efforts to find out if juice reacts to the filter on the tanks, you guys might end up killing the fish.
remember that these guys are very very sensitive to chemicals and a few clouds of vapor getting into the tank might just be enough to zap them.

Another fish geek here. 55g fully planted tank, soil substrate, no co2 injection, no carbon in my filters, no aeration only surface disruption from the filters. I haven't tried this but in intrigued. But I'm concerned for my fishy health. I'll be watching for that video. Grin

10 Gallon with 2 comets, completely overgrown with live plants and temple statues. Ive had this tank going for like 4 or 5 years now but owned many other tanks. The 2 dogs cat rabbit kinda toned down the hobby

I've been wanting to get all into fish tanks for awhile now, but this thread is getting me pretty motivated.

To answer some of your questions I have used several different types of juice, PG, VG and some different blends.

Odd one. I personally will not try to recreate this though. Even though I vape in the same room as my tank, i'm pretty sure Jade (my male RES) wouldn't like me blowing vapor into his tank.

Damn you guys are making me miss my fish

When I finally got out of the hobby I had a thriving 75g African Cichlid community. They had actually been breeding for a couple years. I miss my tanks, they were such a source of tranquility in my house, so peaceful. I could just sit and watch them for hours sometimes.
