Vapor gets weaker in temp control after prolonged use.

As the title reads, right before a vape session, i pre fire my coils to check if its working properly. it always is but it spews a ton of vapor (good thing). the vapor is the perfect temperature and doesn't burn the wick when dry. Now heres my problem. after a good 10-20 minutes of vaping, i pull that top cap off and its barely putting out any vapor. its almost like it needs a long break in between vaping. or like it can go for a certain amount of time before needing cool down. is this common?

specs
19wrap 24ga ti dual
mutation x v4
100 joules
445º F (at first feels good but seems like it cools down to around 350)

Your talking about visually with the cap off? Whats going on is the atty and coil are warm thus the temp control is kicking in faster than when cool. The vape experience should be the same while taking a puff. What your experiencing is normal. On my D2 I have had to let it cool down and relock the atty about maybe 1 time per week cause it get weird and does not vape like it should. But its so far and few between im not really concerned about it.

man that is a heavy duty build. im surprised that mass of coil ever heats up! what mod you using btw?
in any case, there is something not right. You shouldnt see that much variation.

Too much wire? gets hot and stays hot. Thus remains at a much higher than room temperature resistance reading long after the coil has been fired. Thus effing with the IPV's temp refinement/resistance readings. Thus, after a prolonged vape sesh, you device begins to think you've got a slightly different (higher base-line resistance) coil in there or else that it has suddenly migrated to a vastly warmer clime. If this is the case, increase your temp setting when it happens and see if the vape returns to normal.

Wick Fatigue........now I'm not a materials scientist or some kind of textile expert, but I'm nevertheless inclined to think that any sort of fiber will behave differently after being exposed to high temperatures for a good while.....and thus may need a few minutes to settle down after a sustained vicious tooting.
