i have been trying to convert to ecig, still smoking analogs and vaping to substitute analogs. I am still on the search for some juices that satisfys, so i can completely phase out analogs.

I bought 24mg cartos (various flavors) with my e cig. I also bought some more cartos that were 8 mg. what i noticed was some carts seem real harsh when inhaling and make me cough the first hits. So I bought a small bottle of e juice, and lowered the amount of nicotine to 18mg. I am getting the same harness from this new juice. first 10-15 drags or so the hits are real harsh and make me cough.

Do i need to go down another level of nicotine strength or is this a allergic reaction to pg liquid? Anyone else having this problem? If i keep vaping the harshness just goes away. this problem only happens when i stop vaping for long periods of time throughout the evening and when i wake up in the morning and try to vape instead of smoking.

Some flavors are more potent than others. With flavorings that are weaker, the nicotine will overpower the flavor and will be harsh and make you cough. The stronger flavorings will overpower the nicotine and will be smooth and mellow.

If you were filling your own cartos, I would recommend getting some 0mg juice to mix with it.

To vape what you have try taking shorter drags. If you are using a manual battery, hold the button for 2 seconds, suck air for an addition 2 seconds, wait a second or two...then inhale.

I wouldn't say it was an allergy to PG exactly, but PG does tend to have a lot more kick to it. VG has almost no kick at all. Most vapers end up liking a mix around 80%PG to 20%VG, many also like 70/30 or even 60/40.

I'd recommend trying out some VG options and see how that strikes you.

I'm a 60PG/40VG or 50/50 girl myself. PG is very harsh and I would say that very few people use 100% PG.

The voltage of your battery, the amount of PG and the nicotine level all work together to create throat hit. The higher they are, the more harsh the hit will be.

Like Rosa said, try getting some juice with VG in it.

I don't want the burning throat harshness, and I've found that the PG vs VG issue isn't always that big of a factor. The tobacco flavorings seem to be most likely to have this happen, sometimes by choice to fit what users want. Tobacco Absolute is one flavoring that seems to have this happen more often. Extra flavor juices can burn at times - too much of a good thing. Alcohol, used to dilute vg, flavorings and menthol, also produces a harsher throat hit. I've some smooth menthol tobacco with no harshness at 24mg, 80/20 pg/vg. On the other hand, I've had some 16mg 80/20 tobacco flavors that I cut in half with vg that still were like pepper in the back of my throat. Other vapers like the exact same juice that I can't take two puffs of.

It seems each vaper wants different levels of throat hit. So go to 6+volts for more, even if it loses some flavor. I think you may be running into your own preferences, so you'll have to get some samples to find your sweet spot.

You can ask vendors which of their juices are smoother and which are designed for a heavier throat hit, and that will save you money sampling hit or miss. Good luck and do whatever you can to keep off those analogs!

I say everything they say above + maybe try RY4 it's a nice mellow lean back and relax kinda flavour. Caramel too is a soothing smooth tasty delight. God i'm loving vaping right now.....lol.

Sometimes the flavours you get start off a bit harsh then they seem to calm down a bit. Don't know how that works but thats the way it's been for me.

Have a nice cool drink beside when you're vaping heavyish.

i think it has something to do with something in my throat that doesnt like it. i get the same response from eating something with a lot of vinegar in it, like chicken wings when i inhale the vapor from some juices. i have recently gone back to smoking regular cigs because the vapor4life batteries i had all went out after the 30 day warranty. all went out without even using them on a regular basis. Just using them when i am at home. of course they arent going to help even though 3 batteries are from a RMA ticket. $16.45 times 5 batteries + shipping equals $100.00 down the toilet!

thanks for all the relys. i guess that we are all different and accept things in different ways. but i think that i found my problem. and if my batteries were working, i would be vaping right now.

Gee, I've never heard of anyone going thru 5 batteries...how long have you had them? Do they not charge any more, or not fire? Were they auto batteries?...maybe got juice in the center? Seems a little strange.... Curious about it...v4l stuff seemed ok back when I used them...

If i keep vaping the harshness just goes away. this problem only happens when i stop vaping for long periods of time throughout the evening and when i wake up in the morning and try to vape instead of smoking.

That happens to me as well. It kinda catches me off-guard, in a way: Full battery, fresh carto, haven't vaped in a while = inhaling directly into my lungs without expecting to = coughing.

I think when it's all full and fresh, and I haven't vaped in a while, I forget to inhale into my mouth first and then into my lungs. Or maybe I take a deeper drag than I need to, because I forget that I don't need to inhale as hard as I do when the battery/carto has been depleted a bit (as it is when you've been vaping for a while with that battery and carto).

The inhale/throat hit does not stay consistent throughout the battery's charge, and throughout the carto-life. Throat hit decreases as you use up both the charge and the carto. It's like an energizer bunny winding down.

And even if both are not fresh, if I haven't vaped in a while, I think I misjudge how hard or slow I need to inhale.

Practice makes perfect!

leds light up then fade n go out. i barely use them. the one that went out tonite just started blinking when i tried use it off the charger. the manual battery i had did the samething. led lights up, no vaper then just fades out. i was sure not to get any juice in the auto bats, but what was the cause of the auto battery going out? i tried switching carts with a prefilled new one. same problem. i am pretty mad about it. hell my starter kit had 2 bad batteries right out of the box. they suck.

Pete - what cartos? If you are using KR808D-1 (aka Vapor4Life and some others), the 24mg Vapor4Life cartos can be very harsh. KR808D-1 is the hottest slim ecig - it is a real 3.7v. Many full strength smokers cannot vape 24mg Vapor4Life cartos, especially the WOW cartos w/ WOW juices in them. Try 18mg. You will not get too little nicotine - just take a couple of extra drags and you will make up the difference. And you'll be able to take bigger drags.

If you are using any model and bought prefilled cartos at a multibrand hardware vendor, then they may be filled with 100% PG Chinese juice - that can be harsh too. Try 18mg. And you can buy some 24mg juices elsewhere - I recommend 20% Vg i.e. 80pg/20vg - the VG will smooth the vape a bit and the low amount of it will keep your cartos from getting clogged quickly.

Nicotine is what is harsh. And some flavorings can be a bit strong. And PG does little to buffer any of that.

I didn't see your response to the mouth draw vs lung draw thing. Are you doing a mouth draw, holding the vape a couple seconds, and only then doing a lung draw? If so and you're still getting the harshness, try not doing a lung draw at all. It's not really necessary. Just let the vape out through your mouth or nose. You'll still get nicotine absorption, but it shouldn't make you cough that way.

It sounds like your charger is the item with the issue.

Give V4L a chance, and email them. I had an issue with a usb charger (over 90 days and started just....not working) and they sent me a new one.

You can clean your batteries edges and holes with toothpicks and paper towel (or even TP) Those areas get grody and clogged up quick.

Yep, could be the charger...do you use the wall adaptor or do you charge via USB?... I have had a couple of wall adaptor bricks that didn't work at all....the USB cable itself was fine tho...

Hi There.

I'm new to e smoking. Recently purchased a Joye 510 T from Health Cabin.

Its real great for quitting smoking. I'm headed the right path. Have stopped reg cigs for 2 wks now.

My set-up: auto batt joye 510 T with LR 510 T Atomizers, 100% PG E liquid from HC. 24% Nic.
The problem is the throat hit became very harsh after 3 draws.

Its getting real harsh and making my throat ache. Any advise on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
