Some folks are allergic to one of the ingredients, the propylene glycol. You might try a pure Vegetable Glycerine juice (100% VG) and see if that helps. When you say '80 mil juices' I wonder if you're talking about nicotine strength, and perhaps you mean 18mg? I smoked lights 100's for 30 years and 18mg juice tasted like pepper to me, super strong and made me cough. Then I tried a 12mg juice and it was fine. So maybe try lowering your nic level if I read that right.

The PG/VG ration of their juice is proprietary, they do have valuable information on their site regarding procedure/quality:
How We're Different

There is an alarming number of questionable mixing juice environments - such as back rooms, garages and even basements. AVAIL juice is made in the United States, at our pharmacological laboratory clean room facility, located in Richmond,VA.

Made using the highest and purest grade ingredients,
Free of sweeteners, additives and preservaties, and;
All ingredients are organic and kosher except nicotine.

AVAIL JUICE CONTAINS...

VG = Vegetable Glycerin. Natural vegetable derivative found in many food products and is a FDA approved ingredient for human consumption (GARS),
PG = Propylence Glycol. Found in cough syrups, soups, inhalers and nebulizers and is FDA approved for human consumption (GARS),
All natural flavorings and extracts, and;
Optional pharmaceutical grade nicotine.

It looks like you got a Kanger Evod starter kit, which is a solid start. You may be more sensitive to heat, often referred to as throat hit. There are various coil resistances, with the lower resistance making a hotter vape. You may want to check with Avail about getting a pack of higher resistance coils to cool it off. Evod coils are available through most other vendors too.

Another thing is puffing - a slow draw into your mouth, much like a cigar, then an inhale is the way to go to keep your vape cooler and irritation down. Extra hydration is important too as vaping will be a bit dehydrating.

Good luck getting started!

You just have to try different juices until you find the right one for you. .8 nic is 8mg/ml, so that isn't a high nic level. PG can be irritating to the mucous membranes. VG is easier on the mouth and throat, but can cause "lung heaviness" in some people. A mix of the two is usually the best combo for most people. Then, there's flavorings that could be causing some reaction.

I'd try small bottles of juices from different vendors to see what you can tolerate. If there's a B&M with a juice bar near you it might be worth your time to visit and try a lot of juices at once to shorten the process of finding the right ones. They can also take a look at your hardware and evaluate the problem.

Then, there's voltage, resistance, and atomizer types. Give us some info on what kind of ecig mod you are using, the resistance of the atomizer, and the voltage you are using. It might not be the juice, but the hardware. You can get some burnt hits from a bad coil, too much voltage, or a resistance that's too low for the voltage you are vaping.

The Infuse kit uses single voltage Evod batteries, at 3.7 volts I believe, so a variable voltage battery would be another way for you to dial it down if heat is the cause. I found the Evod heads run hot myself, and couldn't use the 2.4 ohm ones at 3.7 volts without irritation. I would definitely talk to the shop about this and see what help they offer too.

well, sounds like dry hits, not wicking properly. Probably due to not allowing sufficient time for the wick to be saturated with juice before the first vape. Takes a few minutes or so for the juice to wick in properly.

If this is the case, you just burnt you first coil, time to get a new coil and try vape again

The other thing to keep in mind, is not to over tighten the thing that holds the juice, onto the battery thingy. This can bend the coil wires in many premade coil thingy's. Causing short, hot spots, dry hits, and killing the coil. Another do over scenario.

Welcome, good luck, you found the right place, and it does get better, and sometimes easier, then harder, or something like that.

Wheezing would indicate bronchospasms- muscles surrounding your small airways are tightening/spasming. Or, it could be that your lungs are having difficulty expectorating the increased deposits. Do you have a history of asthma or copd, etc.? (No need to answer, just something to think about)

Either way, I wouldn't vape that juice (sounds like there is something in it your lungs find irritating), and possibly vape at lower volts and avoid the high powered vaping

Just decided to try vaping the other day. I went to Avail Vapor and bought a regular size unit......80 mil juices. Unless I take ridiculously small puffs, the vapor burns my throat and I've been noticing an overall irritation of my mouth and throat. Any suggestions???? Any help greatly appreciated.

You may have burned your wick and now will only get burnt flavor until you replace or PREFERABLY rebuild your coil and wick. Otherwise, as people have said, you may be sensitive to an ingredient, PG, alcohol (if used to extract flavor), the nicotine could be too strong or the nicotine carrier might not agree with you. Even if you are replacing and not rebuilding yet, save your hardware to rebuild in the future. You will not regret it.

When you have recently quit smoking, your taste, smell and overall mouth flavor are coming back. You may get into a juice that you find weeks later to be crap. It's okay, that is a normal progression. Just don't throw away anything. Even old juice (you may not like) can be used to carbon stainless steel wicks and even lube o-rings, as a last resort.

Just hang with it and try to find the right juice for you.

I have not yet tried, but am very attracted to ecblend.com and have tried and like virginvapor.com. Both of these vendors use quality organic ingredients!

My $0.02, is to get the best juice you can and pay close attention to your hardware. A burnt wick will ruin the best of juices.

Happy Vaping!
