The topic basically says why I'm here. Over the past two years, it started as just a cig here and there, then one a week, a few a week, a pack a week, a few packs a week... I'd quit for a month or two then hang out with some friends who smoke and get right back into it. I realized it's become a problem when:

1) I could not play my instrument as well as I used to... short of breath a lot quicker.
2) My teeth developed white patches and on and off pain that's becoming more on than off (getting some expensive fillings tomorrow)
3) Tired of having to hide it from my parents as well as the 75% of the world that looks down upon smoking cigarettes nowadays.

But I love the positive aspects of it. I did much better in school once I started smoking- it calms me down, it focuses me, it makes me more sociable when I am normally such an introverted person. It also makes the time seem to fly by in situations where I want it to. Take waiting in long lines for an amusement park ride... I used to go INSANE, but now I just stand there, look at my surroundings, take it all in, and seem to enjoy the ride itself the same amount if not more.

I'm getting a little long-winded, sorry. Well, I completely quit smoking the beginning of July. By day 3 my entire body ached so I decided to stop at the e-cig booth at the mall and give one a try. It just happened that the guy there was very knowledgeable, he had been a user of the Vapor King T and Storm for over 6 months. I enjoyed the ease of use- just take the top off, fill, and go. As for the batteries, its just one more thing to charge nightly like I already do with my smartphone.

I bought menthol as I was always a Newport smoker. At first, it tasted really good, but over time it seemed to fade. I'm still not sure if the flavor actually fades away, or if I just become so used to it? Anyone else have this experience?

I made it to early July without a cigarette, then I had one of the worst days of my life and decided to bum one. It gave me this tingly feeling but otherwise no different from the e-cig. Then I think about a week passed, I got really drunk and bummed a few more cigs. Around that time I decided I was bored of the menthol e-cig flavor (it tasted like cardboard at that point) and bought WAFFLE flavor.

At first I really liked the flavor but again, I stopped tasting it within days. So I bought a pack of Newport and I'm back in that cycle where I smoke more and more. Still using the ecig but real cigs when it's convenient. It just feels better. I assume it's the many chemicals they put in to keep you addicted.

But I was wondering if the tobacco also factors in, as product such as the CigRX claims??? I would like to try some of this stuff but don't want to shell out all the cash for things that might not work. And "free trials" are scams more often than not. So I have my "nicotine replacement", I'm going to keep using that thing until the end of time because I love it, but it's just not the same... If I don't have a real cig I get that whole-body-ache feeling that only gets worse each day. So I would like something to supplement the e-cig.

ANY suggestions will be appreciated! Thanks!

(My waffle just ran out, I'm going to pick up menthol tomorrow along with chocolate and mix them! As for technical issues I've had with the VK-T itself, thats a topic for another thread at a later date...)

I vape 2 ecigs with cartomizers that have contrasting flavors.aromas (and much of the flavor is aroma -- you have to smell the vapor). Each flavor refreshes my palate for the other.

Some things that can cause favor to fade - vaping the same flavor over and over, not smelling the vapor, wind or fans blowing the vapor away where you can't smell it, hot drinks, alcohol, food or drink flavors in your mouth, other aromas around you, vaping a stronger similar flavor first (like if you vape a strongly sweet flavor, then a lightly sweet one, the sweetness will seem missing from the second one)

Real cigs have 4000 chemicals in them. I have no idea what you body is telling you. But I know one chemical in cigs makes nicotine more addictive, so if you don't stop cigs then you can't get rid of that.

I have no idea what ecigs you are using. never heard of them. I looked and the T is just a 510-T with a jacked up price. That is a slim ecig and may not be enough for you. If you have the Storm which appears to be an Ego or Ego clone. Have you try low resistance cartomizers on the Storm like Boge 2.0 LR for a hotter hit? (LR uses battery charge faster and can only be used on the fat battery models, not slim)

Flavors - some new vapers find food eliquids give them a craving as if they had just eaten. Some find the opposite, that tobacco flavors reminds them of cigarettes and give them a craving. Pay attention to how different flavors make you feel and for now, avoid flavors that don't leave you satisfied.

Yep, complete noob here, don't know what a 510, ego, or boge 2.0 LR is... The big draw of this for me was that a lot of ecigs have that weird filter in it which I've heard a lot of problems with, requires regular cleaning etc. And the vapor king does not. I'd be pretty annoyed if "vapor king" is just some sort of re-branding and I got a jacked up price. Do the ones you're referring to have that filter?

I thought I could go back to having an "analog" every now and again but it's amazing how addictive it is. For now, I just realized it's becoming a problem again today so I'll just stop smoking Newport again, and see what happens. Honestly, I'm not this much of a slave to big tobacco, am I?

One cartridge fill will last me pretty much all day (though I use it a lot more when I'm not busy such as driving, laying in bed etc), and the battery will last me easily a day and a half or two so I've been just charging one of them every night.

I think part of the problem is the psychological aspect. I've been using it by holding it in whatever manner or just in my teeth, and holding in the vapor much longer than I would with smoke, meaning I don't get the cloud on the exhale. Mainly just so I don't have to deal with questions as to why I'm "smoking" inside and have to explain it to everyone, but also to get more of the nicotine on every hit. Maybe i actually SHOULD smoke it like a real cig... two fingers just below the top, inhale for a second then exhale a cloud of vapor, hey maybe even flick it for good measure. Though this is just a theory...

edit- as for the flavor, yeah I figured that out, I'm going to buy both menthol and chocolate tomorrow for sort of a mint chocolate flavor... if that fades I could alternate between the two instead. The menthol seemed to taste more like a Newport and therefore killed the desire for one more, I think, but I do need another flavor once in a while so it doesn't end up tasting like nothing.
Also, I'm pretty sure my liquid is completely odorless (in vapor form)

If you really want to make the transition to vaping, I would suggest you get a better model than what you have. I good "beginner" model is the eGo/Riva/E-Power type. I think the E-Power is the best of the three because the batteries last 5 times longer and cost $4-$5 instead of $20 each. Get 24mg nicotine strength liquid which is a common level to start and then adjust the strength up or down based on your own needs:

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - E-Power

Well I don't get how I've heard nothing but good things about Vapor King and no one's even heard of it on this forum. There's dozens upon dozens of good video reviews on youtube. I think its day 3 now I'm having no problems at all not smoking. I think it was just a psychological thing like I said.

I don't like that thing, it's too ugly and bulky. But it is cheap, I might pick it up eventually out of curiousity to compare. I've seen nothing but good things about that one, as well. Thanks.

wolfmaster- Just throwing this out there:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lease-help-my-first-purchase.html#post3401553

Basically the Vapor King Etank and Storm seem to be rebranded or knockoff Ego models. No clue whether connectors and/or chargers will be proprietary and you'll probably be better off going with a genuine Joye product over the rebrand, especially considering you don't know if these suffer from any of the same leaking problems that tank users have experienced in the past and you can't rely on reviews from sites that sell them cause we never know where they come from.

Before you make a decision on purchasing it check out the post I linked above and check out prices from some of the reputable Forum Suppliers (link at the top of the page) and you might find a better deal, at the very least you'll find the "real deal" as opposed to a knockoff.

So I've had a bad day. As I mentioned in my original post... I love the tank system (especially cause ive heard lots of problems with those "filters"... or am i incorrect?). BUT about 3 weeks ago both atomizers from my starter kit failed. So I bought a new pink one (ten bucks), then about a week ago bought a second one in black. Right after that the pink one failed. I'm getting pretty annoyed about this. The guy at the stand, the one I originally purchased it from said he has never heard of this happening. And he cannot do anything because it's over the 7 day return period. And he knows a LOT more than anyone else that works there. Then literally right on the drive home, the black one failed.

So I was back to Newports today (after 7 days without even one). They did the job but made my whole mouth feel gross, my whole body smell, and my teeth hurt. So when I got home from work tonight I blew in the black atomizer and that somehow made it work again. But I'm sure it will fail soon enough.

Since this is an Ego-T in disguise (still mad I got conned like this)... has anyone heard about atomizer failure in these? If I bought an Ego atomizer, do you think it would work better / be less likely to fail? Or should I just abandon this model and go for another brand?

I have a feeling Vapor King designs these so that they fail and you have to buy new ones... wonder if Ego does too? Also what could have caused this failure? The battery lights up, air goes through but it just doesn't heat up.

Edit: I guess using cigarettes to ward off my ecig cravings means I'm finally ready to make the permanent switch. ha. It used to be the other way around!:p

Most people buy a second ecig by the end of the FIRST month (I bought 2) and many people buy a stronger ecig than they started with.

If you have never cleaned your attys, try cleaning one.

If you want a stronger slim ecig, consider KR808D-1 (2-piece, uses cartomizers which are disposable but I can get a week to 10 days use out of each). vapor4Life is KR808D-1 as is SmokelessImage Volt. I recommend manual batteries for more control of your hit and batteries that are harder to damage or kill with carto leaks. I use thin clear juices, 20 or less VG in them, clear ones that don't drop flavoring sediment.

or consider a big battery model or mod.

My very first PV was the Vapor King eTank. For what it is, it worked well for me. I stopped smoking immediately (I also used the menthol flavor). Like many beginners I wanted something that looked similar to the real thing in terms of size, but mine happened to be pink.

I used it exclusively for 3 weeks before my charger up and died. Luckily the next day I received a Riva 1100 in the mail so all was good.

Now the Riva is a backup to my vv box mod.

You'll find that there are a ton of rebranders out there. It doesn't mean that you got "conned" by any means. Basically all these things are made in China (other than the mods). Eventually this will all start to make more sense to you. I've only been vaping since June, and it's a huge learning process. For many it becomes a hobby. Whether you choose to delve deeper or are just looking to keep things simple is completely up to you.

If I do get another, I will get one with a button and large battery. I think I'm going to research Ego, Riva, and e-power. Any other suggestions for the large battery types?

If it were me I'd likely go for the E-Power simply because the batteries are much cheaper than those for the Ego or Riva. Also, every part on the E-Power is replaceable. If the button goes on it you simply have to replace that specific part whereas if a button on the Riva failed you'd have to buy a whole new battery.

If I was going to go this route with this type of model, Liberty Flights E-Power is the better option. Why pay $20 for batteries when you can pay $4-$5 for better batteries than the Riva's?

Well I did a quick search and it seems the method to clean them depends on the type. Any recommendations on how to go about this?

Although I suggested the E-Power earlier, if you really want a quality model with a lifetime warranty that will provide much warmer vapor and more consistency, then the answer is the 5 volt GLV 2. It is very well supported by hundreds of ECF members:

Thank you for all the replies! I'm liking the looks of the GLV2 but it's out of my price range and I also don't like the waiting list... I need one pretty soon as I'm sure this atomizer will die soon. I tried cleaning my 3 week old atomizer that doesn't work by running water through, blowing backwards, letting it sit and drain overnight. Still doesn't work. All I know is i'm staying away from vapor king and all other re-brands.

Especially since I'm now typing on a Sager laptop... a manufacturer for HP and Dell and all that, all those companies do is re-brand. I got all the options I wanted for 60% of the price.

I want to get the E-Power 510 - 14650 Bundle for now from Liberty Flights, but they're out of stock :(

Nice!! Could they tell you when they expect more in?

I prefer Liberty-Flights for their warranties but you could check Gotvapes.com for the E-Power

I ended up on Gotvapes, they seem to have a lot of good stuff there. I wanted the stainless steel, but they were sold out on both models. So then I wanted black and they were charging 2 dollars more, so for only 6ish dollars more I could get the larger model. So, I did. No more worrying about "ceasing to be enough" as in my topic, these batteries should last days on end.

Then I needed only 9 dollars more for free shipping ($67 - great strategic price point considering a lot of people would be buying just under that), otherwise it'd be $5 shipping, so I figured why not. I ended up also getting the Sapphire Bud Atomizer 1.5ml Tank System 510 3.0-3.2ohm -2 PK, and SMOKtech LR 510 Wide-bridge Atomizer - 1.7 ohm BLACK. Were they good purchases? I have no idea! I guess we will find out. If they aren't compatible or something, I could always use them in the future. I forsee this becoming a hobby of sorts for me, as it has with so many other people.

So now that I can post in other forums, you can bet I'll have reviews of it after I've had it for a few days. Thanks!
