So I'm a guy that really needs a lot of vapor. It's the payoff for me.

It didn't take me long to discover that VG is the vapor king and PG gives more throat and taste. But the viscosity at some point is going to effect the vapor production, right?

I vape Heather's Heavenly almost exclusively and I've been going with 30/70 6mg.I get abit of throat hit and tons of vapor with this mix. I want to stay at 6 mg for obvious reasons and I was under the assumption that a VG heavy juice would be a "healthier" option (which "m not so sure of, actually), not to mention the vapor. For what it's worth, HHV VG heavy mixes seem to be more liquidy than others. Not sure why.

My question is: could I move the needle towards a more equitable mix and not give up an iota of vapor production? I wouldn't mind going towards a 50/50 for taste and throat-hit's sake, but if it meant even a tiny bit of vapor loss, I'd pass.

Thanks for your opinions, guys.

viscosity changes on VG with temperature. In a cartomizer tank system, this works wonderfully as the carto itself heats the vg around it to a thinner viscosity. This would help produce more vapor due to better wicking as the normally thick consistency of vg starves out a lot of carto designs. If your not having wicking issues, the actual viscosity doesn't effect the amount of vapor produced. This is also why I throw the VG in the microwave for a few seconds before I start mixing: makes it easier to work with.

PG is a better flavor carrier then VG. Its not so much the throat hit that has always been a concern to me when mixing up my juice, its the drop in flavor. You can mix the flavor stronger, but its still not the same. I hover around 60/40 pg/vg. Different flavors react differently to different ratios of pg/vg, also to different wattages and atty designs. The quest to make things perfect, led me to mixing my own juice (along with the HUGE price difference: $2 for 30ml vs what vendors charge).

The best way to find out is to order 6ml or 15ml of your favorite HHV juice in a 50/50 mix and see if it works for you. That's only $5 (6ml) or $8 (15ml). I typically get my juices in 50/50, but I've got some 70/30 juices (from other vendors) that produce tons of vapor. I've got a bunch of HHV juices (50/50) steeping in my closet. I'll vape some tonight and report back on vapor production.

Can I ask what you're vaping atty wise?

Sure.

I'm running a Volt mini with a CE3. Now before you all laugh, I get great vapor from this set-up and it lasts me for an entire CE3. So I couldn't be happier with my set up.

Its a give and take for sure but I was just wondering if there was a point where vapor production tops out and you're giving up the other things (throat-hit, flavor etc) by going more VG heavy and possibly not getting anything for it from a vapor standpoint.

I'm glad you are happy with your setup. I use a mini all the time for work and running errands, as well. I love it!

I am a 100% VG user. I find that various vendor mixes/flavors have varying amounts of throat hit, volume of vapor and intensity of flavor. I don't have a big need for throat hit, so perhaps I am more sensitive than others.
