Hello everyone!

I recently purchased the brand new Mutation X V4S two post rda and today I attempted my very first clapton build. I used 24 gauge kanthal as the core and wrapped it in 34 gauge kanthal with a 3.0mm diameter. My build came out to be 0.30 ohms for the dual coil and I vape it at 65 watts and the vapor for some reason is way too hot. I turn it down but it still gets pretty hot for me and I want to keep the vapor production for flavor. I was just wondering how I could turn up the watts for the vapor production to be higher but keep the vapor from getting way too hot. I feel like 65 watts for a dual coil clapton is quite low. Thanks! I have attached pictures of my build. Maybe the coils are up way too high I am not sure. I am using an IPV5 200 watt mod as well.

65 watts at .3 ohms is ~4.4 volts...that's fairly high. Consider if you were using a single battery mech or a multi-batter, parallel mech - the most voltage you'd get (from 18650s) is 4.2v. The 'type' of coil doesn't determine or dictate the wattage, the resistance does. If you were to build your Claptons at .2 or .15 ohms, that 65 watts would behave very differently (e.g less voltage - less heat - slower ramp - etc.). Any way you slice it though - big vapor production means lots of power which = high heat - there's really no way around that.
