Oh my, seems no one wants to tell me exactly what throat hit is and the reason for wanting it. It also seems that most people here are in favor of chasing clouds. Can you tell me WHERE you do it and WHY you do it THERE?
We just had a vape meet here in Chattanooga in a ballroom......near 600 people attended. Set the fire alarm off twice. Could see the haze, fog, vapor hanging in the air. Definitely reminiscent of the "old days". Got pictures. Wonder if we can go back there. Wonder what ANTZ would do with them.....
Not sure about the throat hit, but I can tell you that when I take the pg too high (actually depends on the flavor) it gives me a burning feeling in my throat. Possibly the best explanation is the raw feeling from somewhat harsh cigarettes mentioned in an earlier post.
As for chasing clouds, I do it to an extent so I can only tell you what I get out of it. I do it for a couple of reasons; firstly, for testing a new coil's or batteries performance. I like to have a large amount of vapor in my lungs which means either I have to take larger, longer drags off of coils that produce vapor at a slower rate or use coils that make more vapor more quickly. As for the clouds in this situation, stealth vaping is almost impossible in the case of the amount of vapor in this case so the vapor has to get exhaled and it doesn't get absorbed by your lungs which equals clouds. By the way, try asking a cloud chaser to take the same hit off his set up and stealth vape it... let's just say cheech and chong lol.
Also, the cloud chasing let's me get a better feel for the smell of my juice since I mainly diy. Part of helping me to quit I'd getting the smell out and not smelling it again, I try not to let it bother me, I just don't stay around smokers long and even ask the mechanics not to smoke in the truck.
I share a truck (2012 mack truck hauling coal) with a smoker, so the first few big clouds of the shift are my kind of fabreeze lol but, even when I was smoking and sharing my truck with another smoker my last 10 miles ( no matter the weather) was ran with the window at least half way down... I still do that to this day and only ask that he empty his ashtray (it's now a fineable offence to toss out a cigarette .... in Illinois and yes I've mentioned vaping to him slowly).
The rest of my cloud chasing is pretty much just bragging to other vaping friends.
As to where I do it, I drive a semi all night by myself for 70+ hrs a week and my wife vapes so short of public places where you can't smoke I can pretty much everywhere. I figure that if 3/4 of our mechanic staff can smoke like freight trains then I can blow big clouds and make them jealous lol.

I'm actually curious as to why the smoke alarms were set off so I'll have to research that some more.
Can only speak for myself but I hope that helps some.

Fogging out my Bulldog with an Igo-W on a k101 or an I30 when I don't have time to drip.
