Anyone else not care much for the "throat hit"?

I'm generally a light throat hit vaper, but I can't deal with high VG. There's no TH and the vapor seems to coat my lungs over time. It's not a pleasant feeling.

I sometimes vape 100% PG, but that's a little heavy on TH. 80pg/20vg with the right flavor can be smooth and tasty. I'm not big on in your face flavorings, either. I tend to enjoy flavors and throat hit that resembles the ultra light cigs I smoked for years before quitting.

Kayfun 3.1 has been my favorite RBA for almost a year. I can experiment with wicking and coil resistance and air flow (coil height) to get it just about right. I'm about to switch to Kayfun 4 for more adjustability.

Throat hit? Yes, I remember that. When I began vaping, using garbage gear–all I knew at the time—it helped me get the nicotine rush I needed. Then I gradually improved my batteries, tanks, and juices. Without thinking about it, I gradually reduced my need for and enjoyment of TH. I've also lowered nic content from 24 to 12 or 8, and expect to go lower. I enjoy good flavor, and don't care about big clouds or TH.

I have always been a "super taster" - even when I was a heavy smoker (promises of "your sense of taste and smell will improve if you quit smoking" actually made me NOT want to quit smoking, because I already tasted and smelled more than I wanted to!)

As a result of my over-achieving sense of taste and smell, I have always been fond of foods with delicate flavors, although the occasional spicy food was welcomed. Hubby hates delicate flavors because he cannot taste them!

So it's no surprise that I prefer milder flavored ejuices - and have no desire for a throat hit. I just want a good flavor that doesn't overwhelm my senses. Maybe you're a "super taster" too? (I learned that term from a program on PBS - "super tasters" have as much as 3 times the number of taste buds as some people - they even showed how to test it using a piece of card stock, a hole punch, and some food coloring)

I must be some sort of "super taster" sub mutant, because while I can't lay claim to an amazing sense of taste, I have always had an exceptional sense of smell, but not across the board. Musk and animal based smells I can smell insanely well (great for hunting), but fruits and flowers, not so much. Fortunately, no one sells "Elk in the Woods" flavor ejuice, or I would be overwhelmed. But I dilute down the flavor of most of my ejuices with nic vg base or just straight vg.

It's surprising to me that so many people in this thread are not fond of TH. I've been vaping mostly zero nic and sometimes 1-2 mg/ml nic juices for a couple of years now. Getting used to losing TH was the hardest part of weaning myself off nicotine for me.

There is another side to this though. I typically vape at 35-40 watts so I get a good amount of 'action' with every puff and even 1-2 mg of nic has noticeable TH at that power level probably equivalent to significantly more nic at lower power. It`s even more noticeable when I've vaped zero nic for a while. I also appreciate some spicy warmth and flavor in the foods I eat.

I appreciate both sides, the heightened flavor of no-nic juice is great for a while and the TH I get from a bit of nic is also very nice sometimes.

I think we can have both sides if we want it :)
