You know, when these things (e-cigs) popped up 4-5 years ago for me - there wasn't a person alive who knew what they were. But now (and this literally just happened), I can go to my local barber shop and spot a guy stealth-vaping in the corner while he waits for his wife. It may be easy to explain now, but could you imagine trying to explain a(n) (A)PV to somebody 4-5 years ago?

I literally just stumbled onto e-cigs back in the day and when I found out they existed...

When I get asked this question I usually respond with something along these lines:

It is called my vaporizer and it helped me quit smoking cigarettes and save money. They usually respond with isn't that illegal? I then tell them no, not at all it actually has a coil inside that vaporizes the liquid in my tank (I tell them what flavor I am vaping) and provides me with a nicotine fix.

When somebody asks you what your PV is, what do you normally tell them?

I tell them that this is an electronic cigarette that basically turns the flavoured juice with nicotine in clouds. Then I take another puff.

What is their response, if any?

Amazing! Can you put some weed in there too? (True Story, this is the most common 2nd question I get lol)

I tell them it's an electronic cigarette (usually carrying my provari). Then I break it down and show them the battery, tank, etc and explain to them how it works. I will let them smell the vapor as most people are like "that smells so good" and tell them all the different flavors I have currently. I then proceed to try to get them into it if they are smokers, have converted many people!

I carry my evod on a wrist attachment. People mostly ignore it till I put it in my mouth and 'smoke' comes out. I get either weird looks or laughs when they realize what it is. I'm normally really cautious when I'm vaping in public...but you get that knee-jerk reaction to your cravings. This one time I was at a party where we had been drinking and I needed a vape. Without thinking I starting vaping big time. For a well-lit living room it looked like I was fogging up the house. I got a little nervous when I realized I was in a friend of a friends house vaping while her kids were in the other room. I said 'oh I'm s sorry, do you mind me vaping in here?' But she laughed it off and explained she knew what it was and that she didn't care if I used it. It was a little awkward for me feeling like I was being rude, but she made me feel much better about it.

Moral of the story: always ask to vape in other peoples houses BEFORE you start. Don't be a rude vaper...

I know what you mean. I just got a Kayfun Lite + Clone the other day and I can quickly fog up a room or my car when driving. But I just vape at home, work, and the trip between - so I don't usually have to worry about if the people around me know what it is. It's nice to hear that some people don't believe the crap they put on the news to scare the general public. Thankfully your friend was understanding.

Yes she was very understanding. But who wouldn't like their house to smell like candy vape? XD haha

That's when I discovered cig-a-likes. I heard a little blurb on the news on the radio. It was very enthusiastic about how this would be a boon to people wanting to quit. (How times have changed)! I googled e-cigs, and found a starter kit.

It was so bad, it only helped me to cut down, but good enough so I kept trying more kits over the years until I found an ego kit and ECF. Now, if I'm busy, sometimes I find out I've even gone for over an hour without vaping. It's a miracle!

If it's someone I know I can joke with I call it my Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation System (using the acronym. .) And get a wierd look.
If its someone I dont know well I say its my large battery advanced ecig. And explain that I can control the power It uses to suite my tastes.

I use an evic most of the time
