    Hello again everyone and welcome back for todays review of the luxe PM40 by vaporesso. First Let me tell you that this is a internal battery device that has a range of 5-40w and is very minimalistic in design having only 1 button and has a fully adjustable airflow that works well. The PM40 comes in a nice array of colors and has a bright display screen with plenty of information for the user. As always lets find out a little information on the Luxe PM40 first before I give you my views of it after using it for a couple of weeks, SMALL BUT POWERFUL.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

    As always with Vaporesso the LUXE PM40 is presented in a slide out box that when opened reveals a attractive packet that holds all your paperwork and it sits on top of a tray containing the LUXE PM40, extra pod, 2 coils and a nice braided Type-C cable. Vaporesso always goes the extra mile even in their presentation of devices.

    The color I was given for review is the Lava color and it looks very nice using a stabilized wood look . On one side of the device is the only button used on the device to fire and adjust your wattage, at the top is some small branding .

    20201028_124509.jpg

    The other side is where the airflow selector is located and it is a slider type and works very well with no chance of coming off your setting if put in a pocket . There is very small branding of LUXE PM40 at the top of the device.

    20201028_124315.jpg

    The pod does not use magnets to attach to the device but rather clicks into place very securely' I had never had the pod pull apart from the device itself.

    20201028_125143.jpg

    Filling the pod is done just like the Xros by pulling the mouthpiece off the pod revealing a
    membrane that is used in the Xros pod.

    The type of one way membrane that lets juice go in and seals when the juice tip is removed. Having a clear pod is so helpful for juice viewing.

    20201028_125834.jpg

    The airflow slider controls 3 slots for airflow with one side having 2 slots and the other having only one. You can vape MTL with the airflow fully closed down if you like a open MTL and RDL going to DL the more you open the airflow up. Airflow has no whistle and is smooth in any setting that is selected.

    20201101_080227.jpg

    20201101_080641.jpg

    The LUXE PM40 uses GTX coils but the ones supplied with the LUXE PM40 are different than the regular GTX coils with the ones supplied having a additional o ring and indent to secure it in the pod and a larger o ring at the bottom of the coil. The original GTX coil on the left with the supplied GTX coil on the right.

    20201101_085610.jpg

    The display screen is bright with all information displayed in a well laid out pattern with Ω's displayed in the upper left and the puff counter underneath. Your battery bar is located at the upper right with battery % underneath and wattage is displayed in the center. At the bottom of the display screen is the Type-C port.

    20201101_093919.jpg

    THE MENU

    There is no menu at all with the LUXE PM40 not even a puff counter reset that I'm sure will be on the device when it's released for public sales or will be able to be installed with a firmware update. To turn the device on/off is done with 5 quick presses of the power button, once on 3 quick presses of the power button will get the wattage display flashing then press the power button to increase wattage while it's blinking. You can only go forward with wattage until hitting 40w then it will round robin back to 5w and begin increasing again. Very simple and easy set up.

    PROS
    * COMPACT
    * ATTRACTIVE
    * GREAT FLAVOR
    * LARGE 1800 MAH BUILT IN BATTERY
    * NO POD REMOVAL FOR FILLING JUICE
    * 3 AIRFLOW SLOTS
    * INSTANT FIRE
    * FAST 2 AMP TYPE-C CHARGING
    * SMOOTH AIRFLOW

    CONS
    * NO PUFF COUNTER RESET
    * BATTERY DRAINS FAST

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

    In the time I've used the device I've enjoyed it because of the compact size with no worry of the airflow selector coming off the setting even sitting snug in my pants pocket. This device will do a loose MTL just fine and open up to a RDL and further to a DL smoothly. The LUXE PM40 uses GTX coils and these are different than the standard GTX coils but the flavor is still the same producing great flavor as well as enough vapor to satisfy me any way I vaped it.

    I think it was a oversight from Vaporesso to not include a reset for the puff counter and hope the retail version will have one installed or a firmware update to install one. The other thing that concerns me is how rapid the battery drains , I mean 1 or 2 percentage points drop with every vape but I was getting 320 to 330 vapes on every charge so that don't sound right, and another thing I have to mention is the LUXE PM40 has a 5 second vape cutoff instead of the usual 10. I rarely if ever vape over 4 seconds but the flavor was so good that one day I just kept going and the cutoff kicked in, that's how I found out about the 5 second vape cutoff.

    Filling the pod is fast and mess free with the membrane that's used on the XROS device also. With a 1800 mAH battery I almost get a full day but it needs 1 additional charge for the entire day for myself, your vaping time may vary.
    ( UPDATE ) I just received information from Vaporesso that the puff counter will reset once 999 puff's have been reached, the device does not support manual reset. Also the battery problem was on the first run of samples which was what I have, that problem has been rectified by Vaporesso.

    So in closing I still take it with me every time I leave the house and will continue to do so because of all the reasons I listed above.

    I would like to thank Jasmine and Vaporesso for providing the LUXE PM40 for review and I hope this review helped anyone looking to purchase it. Remember mine is a sample version.

    THANK YOU

    Great review Bob!
    Also trying out mine and slowly finishing my review. Is the fire-button for you not a bit cheap compared to the rest of the device? I really dislike the fire-button :( Battery seems OK for me, getting 250 puffs at 30W, which is impressive.
    The fire button is is not one of the best feeling but gets the job done just fine, I received one from the first batch that had a battery issue but it was resolved from Vaporesso as your sample proves. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the LUXE PM40 when your review post. I hope you received a different color than mine so I can see another offering of the color choices, I do like my red lava version though.

    The Luxe PM40 is using a newer type of GTX coil that has the double o-rings at the base of the coil. I have not tried the original GTX coil but don't think it will work because the airflow slots are in a different location on the new GTX coil. The wattage range on the new GTX coils are ( 0.6Ω 20-30w ) - ( 0.8Ω 12-20w )
