Hello and welcome once again folks for another review, today's review is on a upgrade in my opinion to the LUXE X which had replaceable Pods instead of replaceable coils which for some folks was more convenient than replacing individual coils. Vaporesso realized that there's another half of the crowd that would rather change coils than change pods and came out with what today's review item is, the LUXE XR. This upgraded as I call it has a power out put of 40 watts and houses a internal 1500mAh battery and the ability to vape either MTL or RDL just as the original LUXE X does, there is only one button and it it's function is to fire the device and power it on and off, all wattage/voltage is controlled automatically by the AXON chipset depending on what coil is installed, and speaking of coils it uses the great GTX coils that are the 0.4Ω mesh coil at 32 watts and the 0.8Ω mesh coil at 16 watts. I'll tell you my findings on this upgraded kit later in my review but first lets see what the LUXE XR is all about.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Packaging was nice with the device, spare pod and charge cord in their separate sections with the user manual and Pod reminder card in a black cardboard envelope on top the charge cord. The LUXE XR looks exactly like the earlier LUXE X that uses replaceable Pods instead of replaceable coils as the LUXE XR does,

Pods are cross compatible with each other. I was sent the sample version in Red with White speckles on the top metal portion with bottom of the device being a strong clear plastic body.

I'm glad that the front of the device still shows the AXON chipset through the cleat plastic body of the device. The LUXE XR uses 3 small LED lights showing battery strength that illuminate when charging or vaping, by the way the LUXE XR does have the vape while charging feature.

Getting back to the lights, they are not visible because of the smoked bottom portion. The one thing I thought Vaporesso would include was a auto-draw but they didn't, button fire only. The Pod has some tinting on it but it's very lite making easy to see juice levels pretty well is dim lighting. I think you will agree with me the LUXE XR looks good in front as well as in back.

I would like to start out with the Pod itself that is connected the the device using 4 strong magnets as most Pods do. Vaporesso installs a clear sticker on the bottom of the Pod for a safety measure during shipping, this sticker also has directions on how to change the airflow by pulling the Pod out and turning it Pod 180° and reinstalling it into the device. The sticker must be removed from the pod so the coil contact makes connection with the contact pin inside the LUXE XR.

The airflow control is so simple and it works well for RDL or MTL GTX coils. Vaporesso says that the LUXE XR can do DL vaping but I feel it's to tight of a draw for that. On the other hand RDL is a great vape and if it's too loose for your style you can turn it around to the smaller airflow opening.

Getting back to the Pod, the GTX coils have flat spots on them for other devices that also use them but the flat spots don't need to be lined up with the LUXE XR Pod because it's connection is a 360° circle needing no line up of flat spots.

The bottom of the Pod has a large airflow hole on one side and 2 small airflow holes on the other side that should be lined up with the corresponding airflow holes on the device but can be used either way which is how I sometimes vape it, some days I like a tighter RDL vape so I spin the large hole side to the small hole opening on the device ( It works great this way also ). The nice thing about the bottom juice fill port is it's size ( very big ) no problem for glass dripper bottle tips.

The Pods included in the kit are labeled with RDL and MTL on one side for easy identification , on the other side a min fill line is printed but is hard to see so just remember to fill the Pod when you can't see juice inside standing upright and level The MTL mouthpiece is more narrow for a tighter MTL vape . Charging is done with a bottom connection just like the LUXE X does.

You should be able to get pretty close to a day of vaping using the MTL Pod but your vaping style will determine that, for me I needed a second charge to complete a whole day but I'm a very heavy vaper so take that into consideration. The flavor is very good and all the traits of my ADV juice came through loud and clear. Having the lights was enough to know that when only one light was illuminated it was time to charge. The lights battery power status are listed below.

    3 LIGHTS - (60-100%) 2 LIGHTS - ( 30-60% ) 1 LIGHT ( 30% AND UNDER )

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

I have to say that the LUXE XR has performed great and having the replaceable GTX coils instead of replacing the entire pod is also great. I've always liked the GTX coil platform and with the LUXE XR pushing 40 watts I can now use the ones I have in it.

I like both MTL and RDL vaping and I can do both on the LUXE XR getting the great performance for styles. It's so compact and lightweight that carrying it at work is great for a quick vape then back in the pocket, the fire button does not have a hair trigger and I've had no unintended pressing of it happen.

The LUXE XR is not a device with massive power output and it's not intended to be, for me having a output of 32 watts for the 0.4Ω is plenty likewise the 16 watts for the 0.8. Being simple to use and not having a display screen or adjustment buttons or a menu system the only combination to remember is on/off 5 quick presses of the fire button.

I would like to thank Danny and Vaporesso for sending the LUXE XR to me for review and I do recommend it for a lower wattage device that accepts the great GTX coils up to 40 watts.

    THANK YOU
