Nothing on there about the duplicate charges though.
Or I just didn't see it?
Yeah it's hidden in the comments, she pushed a button that everyone to "subscribe" to purchases and the server took over. Sounds like some PCI compliance issues there, she's lucky her merchant processor didn't drop her after a stunt like that.

Nothing in the PCI specification says you can't have any glitches in your system, or even totally screw up billing.

Sounds like an honest mistake. An expensive one, and a real pain in the .... for a bunch of people, but there's just no evidence that anyone's information is in any kind of jeopardy, or that it was anything other than a screw-up or misconfiguration, and it sounds like they're working pretty hard to correct it.

I never ordered from them but see this list of venders to avoid http://vapedeals.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html

I've never ordered from The Vapor Girl, but I hope everyone gets it worked out.

This list seems a little suspect though. Some of them seem like valid complaints, while others seem like nothing. I have never heard of vapedeals, but I would do your own research and take everything with a grain of salt.

As the original poster, I just want to say,
A) That I agree with this.
B) I never expected this thread to keep going, it was a one time glitch due to a new order entry system, imo. The problem has been stopped, and resolved for me. I feel certain that all will be resolved in time. I don't think there was any intent to steal or cause problems for customers.
C) I only posted because the charges kept coming after I notified them and I had no clue as to wether or not they were aware of the problem. I wanted people to have the opportunity to delete their CC info to minimize any problems.
D) It confirms my bias against ever leaving CC info online.

I like her products and will continue to buy from her, but as a standard practice, I will be much more careful about leaving my CC info with any vendor.

It was a tremendous screw up with out a doubt, but all they can do at this point is try to fix the mess, and I think that's what they're doing.

I agree. I don't think there was any intent to steal money. That said, as of Friday morning (this problem happened Tuesday), my $300 still has not been returned, and Saturday is grocery day (or was). To be fair, I received a confirmation of the money being returned to me, but an email doesn't put the money back, and my bank said a dispute can take up to 10 days. The fact remains that she saves cc info without asking, and she tried to make a change on a production server using live data. A huge no-no that I am paying for. And a blanket statement on her site, no return call from her, and an auto reply from her help desk stating that they just can't answer individual tickets or calls instills no confidence whatsoever. An honest mistake? Maybe. Her refusal to answer individual calls and emails from people still being affected with an alternative to quickly get the money back to them? Inexcusable.

IMO her "refusal to answer individual calls and e-mails still being effected" shows VERY poor CS and shadiness and makes me want to scratch my head.
Thanks to the OP of this thread and those others that have posted what has happened to them without a word from her, cause me to pass on ordering ANYTHING from this supplier. Thanks for the heads up!!

sooo this is what's up on their main page now:

As to the duplicate subscription issue: refunds have started posting & all voids should be showing as of Thursday afternoon.

We voided and refunded all duplication orders TUESDAY, 2-27-13 by 7:30 PM EST... (within 2-3 hours of the event.)

The banks should have their money distributed to them on Monday March 4 (because of the weekend) and be able to issue refunds. They take their sweet time issuing refunds (even ones processed within HOURS).

You can be secure in knowing all sensitive information is PCI compliant. (See the CREDIT CARD link above for details.) This was a purely internal event that occurred when orders thought they were subscriptions and thought they should be renewed, although the renewal was set at 0!!!

We are taking phone calls during business hours to talk to you about the event. Please do not leave messages, call until you get thru to us.

This isn't the first time I have heard about issues with this company and every time she back peddles and talks in circles. I will not be ordering anything from her no matter how "cute or pretty" the items are.
As a precaution, whenever I order anything online even from vendors that I have been doing business with for some time I always use a prepaid visa gift card. I can get them free from my bank. They can't take what's not there.

My money finally showed up this morning. She did email me back yesterday basically the same info that was on her site, just a longer version. I want to reiterate that I don't think there was any malicious intent, more of a lack of understanding of website modification. She caught it immediately and got cancellations out, but her handling of customer inquiries was bad business.

I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt until the money was actually taken from my account. The fact that money was going to be taken, but then refunded was never stated. To me, 'you will not have to pay' meant my bank account would not be affected. It was for 2 days.

I received my shipment Thursday (the order that started this mess for me), and what I received is great. My final opinion, for what it's worth, is that if you know what you want and don't need to ask questions about anything and you use a prepaid cc with only the amount of your order loaded on it, you are probably ok to order. I don't think I will be going that route, even though she does sell things I have not found anywhere else.

THIS^^^^
You all are too trusting!!!
If I sense even the smallest lack in a suppliers knowledge of what they are doing and with how they run their webste and controling how they are taking in money, I walk away.

Why anyone ever does business with someone they do not know and trust, who will not accept PayPal for orders is beyond me. You can almost always get the same stuff from someone who does, just look around. There is one juice vendor I deal with who will not, and I had an extended conversation with the owner before I gave them my CC number.

Be careful with your information, especially if you do not have some sort of ID protection.
