Vapors call to action

Most of you probably know about the FDA proposals that will cripple this industry and bog the people making all the hardware and e-juice we enjoy down in red tape paperwork and regulations. There is a website freetovape.org that has organized a way for all of us who depend on this industry to have our voices heard. Please visit the site and click on the take action tab at the top. There is a short questionaire to fill out (takes a couple minutes tops) and a place at the bottom to put in your own comments and or a personal story. After you fill this out the people running the website will fax copies of your form to your local congressional representative and your senator along with special committees weighing in on these issues. In addition to these steps they will print out a hard copy of EVERY submission they get and hand deliver them to the FDA before the public comment deadline of july 9th. This is an amazing way to have our voices heard and it takes five minutes of your time PLEASE do this and help do your part to fight for our rights!

Just filled it out.

I do want to add that people should also be active at the local level. I live in Los Angeles where I am starting to see vape shops on every 5th corner, but we have recently had 3 cities (City of Los Angeles, Gardena, and Manhattan Beach) pass ordinances equating vaping to smoking and banning it in public areas. Manhattan Beach defines this as beaches, parks, city streets, and even parking lots of public shops and restaurants.

These ordinances are passed by a handful of people on city councils, without any kind of vote or referendum from the residents of that city. The reasons range from "perception that it is smoke" to "can not prove it is beneficial". It is a bizarre world we live in where products can be banned not because of harm, but because they can not prove they are good for you

At least one of the Los Angeles City Councilmen said that the public is becoming more approving of vaping, so they must ban it now while they can.
