1. Roller Skates with Metal Wheels

Which led to the first 'Skate Boards' being made, by taking them apart and nailing them to a piece of wood...
I had one of the first mass-produced ones, and it couldn't have been more than 18" long and about 8" wide, but my mom gave it away when I came home all skinned up one day from wiping out going down a big hill at the local park... LOL!!

The kids on the corner had BOTH of them, and the combination was deadly... Literally!!
I think they ended up banning sales of the Water Wiggle because kids were actually getting strangled!!

Long boards!!

Dewey Weber was a local legend who opened his 1st Surfboard shop here in Hermosa Beach. We used to hang out in Hermosa as teenagers, and I ended up living there for most of my adult life!!


Although his Memorial was held in Redondo Beach, the neighboring town, which is where I live now...

The person who uploaded this spelled his name wrong, and he actually died in 1993 - not '91,
unless CNN knew something we didn't... LOL!!

(horrible sound, but it's the only copy I could find... and it repeats 2X, too)​
