I'll mention something here as question for everyone (and I'm putting it out there in a couple other subforums too):

I use an Ego V - variable volt passthrough (from a noname vendor which I won't go back to lol) while I'm sitting here at my pc and every time a take a drag, my radio gets interference from it!!! So bizarre! Listening to a song on the radio and everything is great, but while I'm vaping from the passthrough for a couple seconds, there's just static from the radio, then back to normal when I'm done taking a drag!

Ever heard of such a thing?

Also, I've taken this same passthrough in the car and same thing happens to the car radio while I take a drag from this particular battery!

Wow ... that is really strange!

I've never had that happen before ... so can't help you. Maybe someone else here can help.

My best guess is interference from poorly designed &/or grounded circuitry. I've seen similar things happen with shoddy electronics (Chinese mostly).

Did you see the post I left.

DH said that there is most likely a short in the battery and to stop using it.
Just being on the safe side, I think you should. Don't want to see you hurt.:(

This is common problem actually, probably caused by EMI (electromagnetic interference). Designers take great care to meet FCC Regulations and your cord is possibly acting as an antenna. Might be inducing electrical 'noise' basically, usb cable not shielded properly, you know these aren't high end cables after all.

Some people have to use ground loop isolators while in their car and charging their USB devices so they don't get buzz and hum thru their radio speakers. All this electronic equipment we have is creating electromagnetic fields that weren't intended to be in its environment so you get a lot of RF (radio frequency interference). I've even noticed my car radio buzzing when I receive a cell phone call while in the car. I had a weather radio that when turned on would knock out my usb keyboard/mouse on computer. ANY kind of crappy electronics, like an unshielded set of speakers can cause an lcd computer monitor to go crazy, for instance. Also, some USB 3 devices generate radio frequency interference that can cause the antennas for your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices to have issues and they will stop working.

Try moving the radio at home far away from your computer.

Also, personally I would never plug a usb-powered vaping device directly into my computer ....I would use a separate USB hub, that had an AC cord, with a metal grounding prong. Not worth blowing up my computer from a usb port to run some chinese made usb device.

Really, everyone SHOULD have a separate USB hub to plug devices into.

good morning Vapors-Choice Loungers :)

Thanks everyone! and for the info about the USB ports etc. Racehorse. I never thought a little device like a pv passthrough could blow up my computer:ohmy: wouldn't that be a mess!

I cannot find it - However there is even a "SteelJan" video that talks about using either a USB Hub and/or a Wall Wart with a passthrough instead of plugged directly into a computer . . . She even has one on how to fix an eGo Twist . . . Just Sayin' . . . :D

As an experiment....not that I want anything to cause myself or any device any harm whatsoever,

but I took my questionable vv passthrough near the stereo system in the other room, and vaped....
no interference or static on the same radio station....
I'm guessing my little, very inexpensive radio in here (and the one in my car) have cheap circuitry and thus are far more likely to receive interference from any electronic source:)
