Your Vivi Nova can be rebuilt, too, with your Kanthal and choice of Wick. You can even make a 500 SS Mesh Wick for it, if you like. Cut the Kanthal on the Bias, and you can make a U-Shape Wick for it. You can find YouTube Videos about that. The AGI will look great atop a Vamo.
I saw vids about that. Since I got 2 coming I figured I could mess with rebuilding one and leave the other alone for my wife.
just in case already found a cheap dealer for ss cable if in a few more weeks people don't explode or find a reason we shouldn't use it as a wick. $15 for 100 ft 316 7x7 or 7x19 non-galvanized. We'll see. Would like to find all local suppliers for everything. Can't find kanthal a-1 ribbon locally yet

There are two reasons not to use SS Rope/Cable.
1. It's full of Machine Oils, and it will be very hard to get all of it out. For a Non-Torched SS Mesh Wick, 500 is much easier to Clean with either Soapy Water or Everclear. Clean it, Rinse it, Dry it, and Roll it, without a Center Hole.
2. The SS Rope/Cable is only something like 235 or 300 as related to Mesh (this from BJ43 - I wrote to him about it when I first saw SS Rope). You'd be much better off with 500 SS Mesh, and roll a very dense, finger-tight, no-center hole wick. You don't want to pack it (roll it) too tight. That would make it too solid for Capillary Action (this also from BJ43). I've been following BJ43 for months now.

500 SS Mesh is actually better for Any E-Liquid, but especially 100% VG, so you'd do better to use 500 SS Mesh, not 400, 325, or 275. Each gets progressively Worse for Capillary Action (Wicking Upward)!!!
In post 6 of this thread, BJ43 describes an experiment he did, which proves that 500 SS Mesh is Better at Capillary Action for Everything.

BJ43 now rolls his 500 SS Mesh with No Center Hole, in a densely packed wick, but really just finger tight. The No-Hole SS Mesh Wick (some call it Solid) has even Better Capillary Action, without the Spitting and Crackling that some folks think is a Good Thing. Plus, you achieve No-Tilt vaping, because the Capillary Action is so good.
He also found that 600 and 635 SS Mesh are even better than 500 for a Wick longer than 2", but that it isn't worth the extra $$$ for 2" or less.

I am having a hard time getting SS cable/rope heads to listen to reason on this, but they don't use 100%VG and like whatever is "new" to them. Nobody listens to the noob...

Let's say you like a 1.8Ω Coil. Well, 1.8Ω is 1.8Ω, no matter which Kanthal wire you use. But 30 AWG (30g) will give you a longer Coil than 32, and 28 will be even longer. This Spreads Out the Heat over more wick, and it's larger diameter will make Better Contact with your Wick. As the thread title says, "It's all about Wire Temp."
34g will heat up even faster than 32g, which will make your Vape very Hot and Harsh. 32g comes in almost anything you buy that's pre-wrapped, so you can see how long that Coil is. A 34 AWG Coil will be even Shorter, because the Ohms per Inch is Higher, meaning you cannot use as much wire to get to 1.8Ω. A shoter Coil will heat much less Wick, and will Glow Red faster. 1.8Ω is 1.8Ω, so 30g or 28g is much better. However, a 28g Coil will take longer to heat up than a 30g Coil, so 30g is Best. I've also read that some people are using 29g.

He created the Oval Coil to accommodate this expansion, but you could also load it up with Silica Wick, and get more in there. The Oval Coil also helps you reach your desired ohms, by using more of the Lower Resistance Kanthal.

They can do as they wish. This is probably because he is an advocate of Cotton and Hemp. They don't realize that he still uses 500 SS Mesh in his AGA-T2 Tanks. At least you're trying, Snarph.
