I was actually looking forward to this mod coming out. Then I saw that the screen is on the bottom and I no longer want it. After using the vs rdna30, no big deal. Then I got the rdna40 and dna40, it became a pita. I found myself vaping in the mirror often to see if my build was acting right or to see what my pre-heat wattage is. Never able to trouble shoot while I'm out and about.

What really grinds my gears is the fact that vs went out of their way to place the screen on the bottom. They need a special extra long screen cable to be custom manufactured. Why not on the side VS?

In reality, I'm just bummed that the screen on the bottom killed it for me as this seemed like a great device before pictures were released.

I can't actually read the screen any better on the side while I'm vaping...not sure how you do it. I like the bottom screen since I don't have to move my firing hand at all when quickly checking my settings...it's just a quick flip of the wrist and back to vaping. Probably the most exercise I get during the day. ;)

It's not rocket science. The beta mod that evolve sent me is easy to read while vaping. I can see the temp and wattage easily thanks to the large screen. Now the flask on the other hand would be freaking awesome with the dna 200.

Good for you. Why are you still in this thread? To show how inferior the VS200 is? or how superior you are?

I wasn't being critical...just curious; my apologies if it came across that way. I still can't read a side oriented screen mod while its in my mouth (if that's what you meant by vaping). ;)

This is a serious question. What is the benefit of a side screen? With the bottom screen, at least I can see the screens reflection on my iPad or easily in the mirror when I vape. If I'm actually curious about whats happening on the screen. I guess the side screen lets you see things while its sitting on your table?

But 95% of the time, once I get things set up, I just vape it. I haven't found it any more difficult to set up my VS and check the screen than any of my other mods. I just tilt the mod 90 degrees. And if I'm vaping, I can't see the screen no matter where the screen is positioned (unless I put my eyes in a really uncomfortable position).

I don't really get the disdain for the bottom screen. It seems to me, the other DNA 200 mods with the screen below the fire button, your thumb is more likely to cover the screen while firing. And you still need to tilt the mod sideways if you want to get the screen oriented properly.

Am I missing something?

I guess it depends on the mod. I can see the screen perfectly fine with my evolve beta, WAEII with dna40 and sx mini. It's just a preference of mine which is why I'm going to try and fit the dna200 in my vs vf. If you like the screen on the bottom then that's great for you. Everyone has different tastes. If yal don't mind, I'm still going to lurk this thread and see how well the vs200 performs.

Just heard back from Vaporshark regarding zip charging with the DNA200 balance charger.

They confirmed it will allow you to use all functions of the balance charger, and that you can still use Escribe to change the charging mode.

I usually have USB current set as one of my charging displays so it will be real easy to check when mine arrives.

I get that its a preference of yours. I wasn't questioning that. My question was, why the disdain for the bottom screen? Because there seems to be a whole lot of bad mouthing the VS, for something that seems to me is not significantly different from a side screen.

I was genuinely curious how a side screen makes any difference, other than seeing the screen while its sitting on your table (which isn't really when I try to view the screen). Are you actually able to view a side screen while vaping? Maybe my eyes are getting old and unable to see something that close in the far corners of my vision.

Hmm. I guess it's my young eyes. I can actually see it while vaping. I'm not bad nothing vs at all, just a little frustrated that it's a bottom screen. Just preferred to be on the side is all. I've never had any problems with vs products at all and the rdna30 was my first high wattage device beyond 10 watts. The finish on all of my vs mods never held up but I've never had any mod that has an un-beatable finish. The vs200 doesn't have what I want so I'm going to get it/build it. This is why I'm going to put a dna200 inside a vapor shark vapor flask. 22.2 watt/hour with two lg hg2s, top screen thats easy to see and comfortable in the hand.
