I figured that they would have learned their lesson from the last one, you know?
then you might as well tell gigantic companies like apple to learn from their lesson because they sell out at launch.

The demand is just too large and they can't produce enough. simple as that.

you cant expect them to just wait another 2-3 months to get a gigantic stock.

Gigantic companies like Apple ship when they say they are going to ship, and when they receive more orders than what they have in stock, they change their shipping estimates to 2-3 weeks so there is no shock when a customer wants to order them. Funny thing about that 2-3 week estimate is Apple will usually ship it sooner......under promise over deliver.

There is no excuse for keeping the shipping date displayed on their website for 8/24 after they already knew they sold out and would not be shipping for weeks. They know how many units they ordered, they knew how many orders were received by customers. Please don't act like this practice is acceptable.

Just imagine how much the customer service reps want a change in how vs is running things. They must be going through a lot today.

Had they simply changed the information they posted on their website to display accurate information, paying customers would not had found the need to call. Here's a suggestion for their marketing department, don't set up expectations you know you will not meet, and the customer experience runs much smoother. Post accurate honest information and people will understand.

Oh and by the way, as of right now, 8:07pm on 8/24, their website is still advertising "all Vapor Shark DNA200 orders will start shipping 8/24".

@DougFNJ

I totally agree with what you're saying, I ordered on launch as well and still shows processing. Since you are comparing to Apple I will point out another fact.. Apple does not charge you until your product is shipped so even though things get pushed back you are not charger.

Here we have Vaporshark sitting and paid for a product that is not shipping when stated. They should not of charged anyone one until product shipped. I fell as though i'm being used as a kickstarter, paying before they even buy or manufacture the product.

Well... it was expected.
So from info I have found here and there the first batch of 500 was delayed until tomorrow. Orders are rumoured to begin shipping Thursday.
My guess is that the first order number was 100104800 - 100104700. If your order number is in the first 500 batch then you will get it soon, if not add 2-3 weeks to that. Some say more than 5000 units were pre ordered and await shipment. So some are in for a long wait.

Thanks for that,
There customer support is nonexistent at the moment, Waiting on email for 3 days and have called them once a day since with no one answering the phone.

I was at ECC on that Sunday hoping there might of been one there.. No luck so I ordered early that Monday the 17th I'm in the 100105XXX area probably just missing that 500 batch mark if that is the case. I'm still showing processing on my order status FYI..

I always thought of vaporshark as a good company with good support justifying the price but as it stands right now there going down hill fast to me.

Just because their advertising / marketing department is sucking, does not mean that the device or support will be a problem. Their customer service might not know as well. Looking to the positive, I may choose not to wait if does not ship this week but might still be best dna200. Planning on sticking it out and if delayed will be excited a month from now.

Maybe you missed the part where they aren't answering phones or emails. I have a dna 40 that needs to be fixed and can't get a response with either method. I would say that's a problem.

I emailed them on Monday as I had met another fellow at a vape shop that said he had gotten his confirmation that morning. I received an email back from them this morning at 10:23 cst stating that there were over 5k orders placed and that they did expect to start shipping this week, and that I would receive the confirmation email when it was shipped. I'll wait for mine, it's my first vaporshark, and I'm fairly excited. Their build quality seems to be quite good from the little I've played with their devices.

I bought the device based on the majority of reviews being very positive of their products. I am not questioning that or I would not had bought it. Carnage, I hope that gets worked out for you, I'm guessing if you tried getting them recently they are WAY busy which is no excuse in itself, a support person should be designated regardless. I also get it that they are obviously overwhelmed. The thing that pisses a lot of us off is this is easily avoidable with simple communication.
Customers should not have to ask where their order is while continuing to post that it is shipping 8/24 which by the way it is STILL showing. Their website should had posted delays, their Facebook and Twitter should had posted these delays. Instead they left the banner on the site to keep the orders rolling in and left it wide open for calls, emails, and ultimately an awful PR reputation which is very short sighted and small thinking.

Rather amusing to see all of these posts, but understandable for anyone who didn't go thru the "DNA 40" shipping debacle. Their products are awesome, but their "marketing/service" leaves a bit to be desired.

For a laugh, just spend some time looking at all of the postings at VaporShark rDNA | E-Cigarette Forum - over 300 pages of folks complaining about the same things being discussed here, but when there were huge delays in the DNA 40 release.

That's why I waited to order and why I would say don't waste energy complaining. I doubt anything will change when they come out with the DNA 400. :)

Thanks didn't know the same thing happened back then, I do own a DNA40 but didn't buy it to later on.

Again you would think they would of learned with the first round and become better, Not make the same mistakes over again.
I also wouldn't put the blame on marketing, who ever is over seeing everything is the person dropping the ball. If Marketing is told one thing it's not there fault.

Again to me seems like there taking our money to buy parts and manufacture them when they should have the products already. They should not be taking money until items ships like everyone else. I've backed many things on Kickstarter and I just get the same feeling.

Now for support unanswered phones and email after days is not acceptable. I believe there doing this on purpose because people would be calling in wanting refunds, and I am almost at that point my self.

I guess I don't care about waiting. Yeah they suck at updating the website and their communication is sucky right now... but we only know what we know. If its one thing I learned in my short life, is that its easy to complain about things until you know whats going on in the background. I am not excusing them for not having some dedicated community relations person updating Facebook and other media outlets. Lets not forget, VS is NOT a huge company. They may act like it, but, there are still a lot of growing pains and issues that come with quick growth.

Before I got into Enterprise level networking/engineering/SAN/Server... I used to complain as to why X company went down and why the hell it takes X time to get back up and running. Now, that I have had to work through outtages like that... I can honestly say - people are ignorant and .....ing is the easiest thing to do, people are in such a big damn hurry these days and nothing but instant is good enough.. and they refuse to care what it takes to run/maintain/repair company issues.

Now, am I annoyed that they have my money and I don't have a product? Sure, but, I have other things to use right now and, I am not smoking.

(Please don't take this post as a rant on people who are dissatisfied and are expressing those feelings on this forum, I am just saying that I understand that things aren't as simple as they appear and I am patient)

Kalison, I appreciate you well thought out post and your perspective. On the simpler side of things, it is fairly simple. Remove the statement "all units shipping 8/24". It is still up there. Replace that sentence with, "shipping 2-3 weeks". This simple little change takes care of half the battle and offers a realistic expectation.
