Some people think they are buying a American Made mod when in fact it's made in china just ships from Florida. If people purchased a Chinese mod made in china and specifically shipped from China people would be up in arms about the crappy paint job and we would be hanging the company from the highest tree and taking a switch to them and would be demanding the money back, but we as USA citizens let companies from the USA get away with this crap. If we keep letting USA based companies get away with this then it's no ones fault but our own. We are paying a good price for a device and we should get a good device in return. If you purchased a car and the paint came off from driving a few days what would happen? You would be at that dealership demanding something be done, so why not hold these companies accountable for a change instead of saying throw a silicone skin on it or wrap it? I for one will not purchase one of these as 2 weeks after I got my RDNA my paint came off and they told me they knew they had issues but did nothing to help me, that is a piss poor company in my opinion. So for all those that continue to support this company and say buy a skin you are wrong. It's my HARD earned money buying a device and I demand better quality like we do with any other country, why is demanding better quality from a USA company be any different?
Quite a few people bought a Chinese mod from a Chinese company that had a 'crappy paint job'. It's called the Yihi SX Mini M Class. It still sells quite well even though they have never fixed the paint issue.

Calling and wasting VS's time on a product you don't have in hand yet with a problem you don't have is just silly, especially when they're already busy......Stop being drama queens.

I called and asked a simple question about the warranty, and if it covered the peeling, if it were to happen to me. Please explain to me how that is wasting their time. I don't care if they are busy or not, that doesn't mean anything. Next time you're at work, and are busy, and a call comes in for you, are you going to tell the caller that you're busy and quit being silly? Don't think so.....So think about what you say, about others, before you post. Seems you had to post that response for attention, as many people are interested in whats going on. No need to call people drama queens, since we care about their product..... childish. Thanks.

My vs vf had a slight rubber finish come off due to it sitting on a little solder flux. Be care with the type of liquids that come in contact with the mod.

I don't see why vaporshark doesn't buy some good quality cerakote and be done with the complaints. Cerakote is one of the best types of coatings avaliable.

Yes Yihi had a couple of small hiccups but one thing different about YIHI is they took the devices back with no questions asked. You don't see Vapor Shark doing that for anyone do you? I think not. So a big difference on how one company actually cares that the customer is happy with the purchase compared to another company that doesn't give a rat {MODERATED} if you paint is {MODERATED} or not. Yes it may not be thousand dollar device but to me my money matters. So I think I should get a good quality device for my hard earned money. some of us are not rich and just don't like throwing our money out. I will stick with a good company that cares and will change even a paint job when they have a issue. Has VS done that? Nope.

Sorry but I have yet to see anyone who has actually sent them pics with the peeling and asked for it to be returned. Until then, seems we are talking in the hypothetical. Not saying they will exchange it, but assuming they won't without talking to them about YOUR situation isn't fair. Neither is calling them and complaining generally about a problem that others may be expressing here.

DNA30 = ? No paint issues
rDNA40 = 10 months old with rubberized finish. No peeling.
DNA40 = 4 months old with rubberized finish. No peeling.

With thousands of devices sold, I don't think it's as big an issue as most think it is. Yes, it sucks if yours is peeling but "all these issues"??? I'm not saying it doesn't exist but it might not be as widespread as it sounds.

As far as customer service, I've had nothing but good experiences with them. All these complains are when VS releases a new product and they get slammed. Calling and wasting VS's time on a product you don't have in hand yet with a problem you don't have is just silly, especially when they're already busy. It's easy to manage a company behind a keyboard and compare a small vaping company to a company with a billion in cash reserves (Apple) or paint peeling issues with something (a car) that cost many thousands times more. Stop being drama queens.

Well if it isn't wide spread then they should give whomever is having a issue a new one, that would be a company that you know care about the customer and not just about the ole mighty dollar but VS is not that way at all.
Its all about the money. You are lucky not to have had any issues but if you search you will see they had so many complaints it's not funny.
I for one had a issue with the paint and basically they should of said take a powder because they did nothing. When I buy a product and only use it for a couple months at home I would think the paint would stay on or rubber or whatever they say it is. I for one would never buy another VS product . Now maybe if it was a cheap price of a used mod at a reasonable price then maybe and then I wouldn't care what t looked like. But us vapers seem to hold less of a standard to USA companies then we do with anyone else. Everyone wanted to tar and feather YIHI even though they replaced the product but we continue to do nothing to VS. Hmm something wrong with that picture. And I guess I'm a DRAMA QUEEN then :)

Can't we go back to being happy? I get people are upset, I respect that. I'm waiting for mine to arrive and I think this issue has been discussed at enough length already. We can see who is upset and who is not and with all due respect I'm getting fed up of all this. If yours peels take it up with VaporShark. If they won't fix it do something about it your self and don't buy another one if you are that unhappy and move on and stop going on about how you are emotionally scarred or make a separate thread about the finish so you can {MODERATED} some place else

dude, you really need to calm down and think about the fact that a) you have no idea how many units are peeling. b) you don't actually have a unit. c) you're making claims and calling customer service without first hand experience. i mean, come on now.

why don't you wait till your unit arrives, if you actually ordered one, and then deal with issues as they arise. call customer service if and when those things happen and post about your personal experience. no need to troll just to troll.

you can't ruin the excitement for this guy, i'm super stoked to get mine...whenever it arrives.

I don't think anyone said they were emotionally scarred not that I read and I didn't either so don't know where you pulled that out of. I was stating my opinion on a product that has some issues. I did think that was what this forum was for discussing issues. Also unless a moderator tell's me to go else where I don't have to. We are all here to learn about a product the last time I checked and if people don't say what the pro and cons are and just keep quiet then how would anyone know?

Do you know what CS says? They will tell you only the device has a warranty and not the paint. I have seen photos from people I know who have it and they have peeling issues. Happened with my DNA 40 so until you have it happen to you then you can't say. they told me that with my DNA 40. So I know CS all to well, then they tell you to wrap it.

i have a ton of experience with vs, their cs and products. guess what, im buying yet another product of theirs (my 5th vs unit). why? because i like what they make, feel its we'll worth my hard earned dollars, and know that if i need customer service for a failed unit...something thats covered under warranty, i'll be well taken care of. you know very well (it seems) that paint/finish isnt covered, and it seems to bother you VERY much. i think we can safely say this isnt the mod for you. eh?

Kinda wish they offered it without the rubber coating...the finish under it is pretty nice. Note my mod did not peel this extremely on its own. i took a blue scotch brite pad to it. It is not easy to get off as it flakes and doesn't peel off.

What kind of build are you using in that Cthulhu? Hows the battery life on this mod with a RTA in the normal RTA wattage ranges?

I dunno, I don't think it looks terrible under the rubber coating.

Well there goes that theory, guess the finish really is junk. Its sad how their website makes it sound like a new and improved coating process when if anything its even thinner than the rDNA. Hate to say it but I'm seriously considering cancelling my preorder, just wish there was another dna200 with zip charging.

Not necessarily, some people I'm sure will get sent a Nano coated one who maybe did not pay for it. I don't believe the 10 a day Nano coating story. It is cheaper to do more in bulk to have them ready to go and it is possible that someone could get one who did not pay for it because it is what was grabbed or handy or what they have more of in stock because people are not paying for it. It sure does look like an extra top coat like the "nano" coating that is peeling in all these pictures.

So more or less.... they make extra money of those who pay for it and some get it for free who don't ask because a majority of units could be pre-made with the coating. If they get the extra money great, if not "ooooh you got free Nano coating by mistake".

JUST A THEORY...

Mine was from 8/28 so definitely not in the clear, and no I haven't contacted them as of yet, as I hate that kind of run around crap. And it is my beater; but for the sake of everyone's nerves here I will reach out and let you guys know what kind of reply I get. Sending them email with pics in the next few minutes.

Edit: Email sent

Thanks, beater or not they should stand behind the finish for a few weeks during all the pres-ale hooplah. If anything maybe they will give you a coupon or partial credit (especially if you paid $200) :)

The "extra top coat" is the rubberized finish, not the "nano" coating.

I'm using dual 2.5mm 10 wrap titanium build reading at .20 ohms at 55w 400 F and 80w preheat. Battery last me all day with around 10-15% left when i go to bed. i charge it when i wake up and its full in around an hour. for me its close to the battery life i was getting from the sx mini m class with a single samsung 25r.
