@moneymike Probably a good time to point out that those of us that ordered the nano-coating and are seeing shipping notifications for devices ordered after ours is to be expected, as it takes more time. They're working from two shipping queues.

Have we identified a nano coating order, shipping domestic, that has shipped before an earlier placed nano order?

OK... For the guys who have received their devices using mail innovations... How long was the transit time?

I've never seen the expedited MI before. But, I have been extremely unhappy with the other MI style delivery methods. Is priority mail an extra dollar or two?

It's not even UPS or USPS's fault. It's the cheap vendors who use it as default and don't warn us.

I really think it's a sign of a bad vendor.

I haven't received mine yet, so I can't answer your question really. I can understand why VS would use that method, UPS is a lot more flexible on pickup times / dropoffs, and with the sheer amount of packages they are sending out, UPS is probably better suited to handle the volume. Personally I would rather it hitch a ride via UPS to my local sort center, than getting stuck down in Florida for days at a time at their terrible USPS sort center down there.

Mail Innovations was created by UPS to provide a more economical shipping option. UPS handles the package to the destination local hub. I'm not sure what you mean about "other MI style delivery methods" because there isn't any with MI.

They're providing free shipping and you're blaming the vendor for shipping service??? Try Hana Modz which charges $10 for $5 priority shipping.

No... I'm blaming them for not mentioning that it's a Smartpost or Mail Innovations style shipping method. Other MI methods, meaning the non-expedited version. If they exists.

The website just, until recently, said USPS 1-4 days. I would expect that to mean 1st class. I would expect them to call it something other then USPS shipping on their website.

I've ordered lots of stuff from lots of websites. Smartpost and MI have been the worst. The hand-off from UPS to USPS always adds a day, and it tends to get lost a few times before it gets that far.

I always use Priority mail for my incoming and outgoing packages. IF it's one state away, I'll use UPS ground. If I know, then I stay away from Mail Innovations. It depends on where you live, but I get good fast service from USPS when nobody else is involved.

Still they aren't even saving a dollar over 1st class and it takes an extra 3 days if everything goes right. I hope I'm wrong and it doesn't take that long.

EDIT: It appears they now say MI on their website. It didn't when I looked earlier.

In my business, I'm responsible for deliveries. Maybe that gives me a different perspective. The sales not done until the item is in the customers house. For a relatively high end product, faster shipping just gives a customer piece of mind.

Took 3 days to get from Fl to me in central NJ. It spent an extra day in the Kearny sort facility which sucks.

On another note I had mentioned battery life yesterday. I was concerned that the battery was almost half after 5 hours vamping 30 watts on a .6 ohm coil. The battery ended up dying out around 12:30 after midnite which is impressive. Typically rechargeable batteries get better life after 2-3 charges so I don't see it being an issue the way I Vape.

Exactly, I was just curious how far behind they were on the coatings since Steve is the only person I've seen report receiving a tracking number for one since the pause in manufacturing. I wasn't expecting them to ship until next month anyways so don't mind waiting another week or two. It's just getting harder to be patient ;)

I ordered mine on the 19th of September and have just received my shipping notification today, I didn't get a hydrophobic coating but kind of wish I did now (although my atty's never leak).
Mine is an international order which might influence the shorter wait time.
anyways I can't wait to receive the shark and get my cthulhu v2 on it :D

hoping there's no problems as I'm so far away and sending it back would be a huge inconvenience.

can we see some more photos Steve ? :)
Yes, but not for a little while. I had to go to work and left it behind as I knew I'd be late if I started playing. I finish in about 7.5 hours and will get myself sorted and settled and later on il try and get some more photos. It's not even come out of the box yet, I'm proper excited to get back home!

Ah tempting but its not worth it in the end. Loss of earnings = reduced vape budget next pay day lol

Hah, yeah, that is understandable. I just got my first DNA200 in yesterday, once I saw it was delivered I couldn't get out of work fast enough.

I made these last night if you want to use them:

I tried your goblin mini one from another thread, but it was too small on screen. The one I did, started from the big logo you posted, cleaned it up slightly, then it got mangled up when I did the re-size, but it looks descent on the DNA200 screen imo.

Got a reply back from evolve, since VS was giving me false statements on the dna board not coming coated. I copied and pasted this into an email to them.

What vaporshark originally told me:

Hello William,
Liquid can find its way down through the 510 connection, as it is spring loaded and due to the nature of it , it cannot be sealed. The board does not have liquid damage protection as it comes, we do offer a hydrophobic nano coating service, however this will make the internal components liquid resistant not liquid proof.

My email to evolve starts here.

Hello, I am having mixed responses for the DNA 200 chip. I have read that the dna 200 chip comes coated that makes the chip e-juice proof? I am being told, by forum members, that the dna 200 chip can not be fried if ejuice gets on it, is this true?

The reason I am asking is because my DNA 200 chip died on me yesterday, in my vaporshark dna 200. I called them about warranty work, and they are taking it back to look at it. They told me that they have had people having the same issue with their chip, but some of the returns, because of the chip dying, is because ejuice got through the 510 connection and ruined the board. I am just trying to figure out of this is true, because forum members are telling me thats a lie because you all coat the chip to prevent this.

If this is the case, and you do coat the chip, then vaporshark is lying to their customers and charging them $80 to fix their device. Just trying to get the correct answer on this, thanks.

Hi William,
There is a conformal coating which protects the board components from moisture. However there are certain areas of the board that we cannot protect such as the USB port. It is possible to kill a board with e-liquid but you'd need to get it into just the right area.

Thank You,
Brandon

Just got a reply back from vaperoshark.

Hello William,
Yes, I did confirm that they do apply a conformal coating, however many electronics suppliers do this to their devices, however as Brandon explained " However there are certain areas of the board that we cannot protect such as the USB port. It is possible to kill a board with e-liquid but you'd need to get it into just the right area."
Our Vape Shield coating is a completely different process which will make the internal components liquid resistant.
Thank you.

Lol what?! You told me it didn't come with a coating, so I prove you wrong and now you're telling me you know?

Just got off the phone with Vaporshark. They got my device back yesterday, and already repaired it. They said that the reason for the chip dying is because of the charging board in the DNA 200 chip. Apparently they have been in contact with Brandon, at Evolve, about this issue, and seeing how to handle this. So looks like there will be another revision to the dna 200 board, according to vaporshark. Vaporshark also said that they repaired my device and the problem "shouldn't" happen again, but if it does that this is still covered under warranty, since this is a known issue at the moment.

So just a heads up to anyone that might have this happen to them.
