Well, my finish is still perfect and I take it everywhere with me.

My issue is now that I think the chip took a big ole dump. Fire button lights up when pressed but no screen and no crackle. Unplugged the battery for a while, plugged it back in, nothing. Tried to leave it on the charger for a few minutes to see if it comes to life... just gets really warm. Computer and software does not recognize it.

I didn't read all the posts so sorry if my question is answered somewhere else. So I've watched a few vidoes, read a few dozen posts and shopped a few dna 200 products. My impression is evolve wants this to be a serious cloud chasing contender. I may be an advanced tootle puffer. (The way I vape is in the signiture below.) Is the dna 200 going to add anything to the low to intermediate rage of vaping I do?

That sucks. It sounds like what happened to mine after the first 2 days.

When I called, they suggested trying to force a reboot by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery which I had already tried. So they sent me a shipping label and replaced the DNA chip and the battery. It's been fine in daily use for the 2 weeks since I got it back.

No delay warming up coil. Will allow you to explore more complex builds. Will allow temp controlled vaping on more wire types. Will allow you to monitor data in Escribe. Allows customization and mod analytics handy for temp controlled vaping.

Will the chip save data about my vaping activity? I would like to be able analyze puffs, duration, energy consumed, and time stamped do see what I'm actually doing. I'd use that info to help me vape less. For instance, my first DIY order is on the way. I'll use that to tweak nic levels upwards to see if that reduces daily ml's. I'm also going to experiment with more bland flavors that keep me interested but may be reduce daily ml's. 'Puff data' would help with that and would be worth paying for.

I stole this off google but this is a screen shot of the Device Monitor window. On the bottom half, you can see the stats you will get.

I'm actually simpler than you with mostly KFv4 tanks and a consistent .10Ω Ni200 build (28g, 7 wraps spaced), 440°F, 20-25w. I've started playing with the temp a bit and trying out 460°F. I have 3 DNA200 mods and 2 boards waiting for enclosures.

IMO, Evolv went to 200w because so many people skipped the DNA40 because it was "only" 40w. I would guess 99% of vapers would be fine under 30w with the right coil if they knew better. That last 1% would be the ones building complex coil builds and actually need more wattage to heat them.

I see the screen shot. May be lots of opportunity there. If those data points are time stamped and open sourced then a Puff Analyzer app is doable. Why not let lots of developers work on it? I'd actually pay money for an android app to display and summarize my vaping and I would want to own the hardware that could provide the data. Could the dna 200 be used to help a user modify his vaping behavior? For starters I'd like to be vaping a bit less.

I think this discussion would be better suited for the main DNA200 thread than a single mod thread.

I think the VS DNA200 is the best DNA200 device available now. I would guess Escribe gives you enough info to do what you want but I'm not trying to quit vaping so I don't know for sure. If you're trying to cut down or quit vaping, why look at a $200 mod?

One of my relapses came after 10 years so I'll never assume I've quit anything. A Puff Analyzer might help me regulate my vaping. That ability might be useful to others and it might be good for the public image of vaping.

See my earlier post. Same thing happened to mine and had to send it back for warranty work. Turns out the DNA 200 charging boards are faulty and causing the chip to fail.

This is all DNA200 charging boards?
I'm not certain. Vaporshark told me they have been in close contact with Brandon at evolve about the DNA 200 charging board making the chip fail. They said that since it's a known issue the warranty work will be done for people , but they are trying to figure out how to handle this with evolve.

That's all I know.
