First of all, I am not a novice vaper and have a variety of PVs and attys as well as my own cobbled together high-voltage box mod and a Little Sister that I am holding for a European friend but I'm allowed to play with it until he gets here-good little unit and problems with delivery were resolved quickly, but I did not quite like the ergonomics. The Joker AV seemed to have most of what I wanted in a variable voltage system so I ordered it. It arrived on Wednesday, and that's when the trouble started.
It was sent in a USPS priority mail box, and the first thing that hit me was that parts were rattling inside. To my dismay, when I open the box, things were thrown in there with about as much care as the giveaway items at the end of a garage sale: no bubblewrap, no plastic chips, nothing! There were also no instructions in the box, and the downloaded one from the website was very difficult to read.
Nothing appeared to be damaged, so I put in freshly charged batteries and a 510 broken in atty. The light went on, but the Joker AV was not vaping. After changing attys, the same thing! The same attys worked fine when I screwed them in on another battery as did my other attys with adapters. Failed on the Joker but immediately worked elsewhere!
I then hooked up a voltmeter (screw in type), again nothing, but as I backed it off, I got a voltage reading! I know better than to over tighten anything, but the only way to get the Joker to work, was the fiddle with tightening and loosening the atty. Moreover, the unit got hot very quickly; the most comfortable spot seemed to be for me at around 4.3 V. As the unit warmed up and cool down, one had to fiddle constantly with tightening and loosening the atty in order to get it to fire. This is not what I expected from such an expensive mod; an e-mail that Wednesday morning got me no reply. Friday I sent another e-mail, got an acknowledgment with a promise to respond by Friday afternoon. Friday, no answers!
Monday morning, there is an e-mail answer waiting for me with a condescending answer stating that my atty was shorting the battery. I replied immediately that I tried every atty and adapter in my box. That afternoon, I get an answer that I can send the unit back for repair and will get a five day turnaround.
IT TOOK THEM SIX DAYS TO RESPOND TO MY FIRST EMAIL, AND NOW I AM SUPPOSED TO BE GULLIBLE ENOUGH TO BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL TURN AROUND A REPAIR IN FIVE. Done with Vaprlife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After another flurry of e-mails, I finally obtained a return number on Tuesday. Oh, by the way it was going to be a 15% restocking fee for a unit that was damaged on receipt and I had 3 days to return it!!!!!!! It cost me roughly $33 between postage and restocking fee.
Therefore, I can only add my litany of woes with Vaprlife to the others already posted. Vaprlifes customer service is abysmal. I will do a review of the product elsewhere since there are some serious issues with heat dissapation, IMHO.
