Thanks. I am pretty happy with my setup, truth be told. I just can't help wondering if that's because I don't know any better. I guess I'm asking someone to take a picture of the grass on the other side of the fence before I jump it.

I realize some people enjoy tinkering. I didn't mean to sound patronizing; it was an attempt at humor from someone who cannot speak intelligently on the topic.

I'm still not sure if some of the more expensive mods offer an improved experience for someone who isn't into math and tinkering. That's what I'm trying to find out.

A better mod is really the only thing to improve your experience by being consistent.

Jumping in late. (Story of my life) I am puffing on a SmokTech "Octopus" (modified of course) with a 1.5ohm micro coil at 4.0volts on a Lambo4.0 and my wife is complaining I keep clouding the room up. The only thing I can see happening if I could burn a sub-ohm coil in this thing is hurting myself.

I'm really thinking the OP just simply doesn't have a clue, and probably didn't appreciate being thrown through electronics school here, lol. But, I have to say that I did, good info in this very strange and twisted thread here.

Now, if someone might have just offered him a link that could teach him how to wrap a micro coil with some cotton correctly, he might not have taken his ball and gone home mad... :D

Didn't I link my youtube video on how to wrap them?

You should be able to use a 1.2 ohm coil in a Provari. If you're getting errors, you either have a short, or your voltage is too high.

I've been able to get a 1.0 ohm coil to fire on a Provari, I usually shoot for 1.2-1.5, get upset when a build starts higher than 1.8. Oh well, wrap and learn. Was able to pulse a .9 ohm coil, once I dripped some juice on it and pulsed some more, it went up to 1.1 ohms. Have to play with the low ohms to get them up and running on the big P. Using the ohm test will actually pulse the low ohm coil even if it gives the lo error, just work it a little and sometimes one can get a to low ohm coil to break in a bit to actually work at 2.9 volts. Takes a bit of bull headed stubbornness though, I built the dang thing going to get it to work lol
