I'm just looking for a quick explanation on variable wattage and what it does to the volts?

I'm using hh357 at 1.5 ohms and a few rba at 1.7- 2.2 ohms, I find my happy vape at 8.5-9.5 watts. What is the voltage at so I don't blow the coil on my hh357 as I was told don't vape it past 4.1 volts....

Cheers

there are spreadsheets floating around the forums but I just use online calculators from time to time.

Online Conversion - Ohm's Law Calculator

In your case, for 1.5 ohms at 8.5 watts you're at 3.57 Volts (hmmm... hh357?) at 9.5 watts, 3.77 volts

To blow the hh357, you have to go past 11.2 watts :)

Power (wattage)= voltage squared / resistance

Current (amperage) = voltage / resistance

Voltage = Current times resistance

Study the OHM's law pages and it will begin to make sense.

*Holy cow. Lots of responses just in the time I typed it out. Just have to pick one I guess. Lol.

P=E*I and E=I*R are the two formulas that you can use and combine to pretty much figure out anything in vaping (Watts and Ohms Law)

P=Watts
E=Volts
I=Current
R=Resistance (ohms)

Figuring out voltage is is just plugging the two formulas together.

E=SQRT(P*R)
E=SQRT(9W*1.5ohms)
E=3.67volts

Additional combinations:

P=(E*E)/R

R=(E*E)/P

I'm good with electronics, but a lousy teacher so I hope this helps.

i dont usually take my hh357 above 4 volts b/c i primarily use it on a fixed volt mechanical mod, but when you consider a fresh battery comes off the charger at say 4.1 or 4.2 volts, im sure my hh has seen its fair share of vaping at around 11 watts, never had a problem, just keep that baby wet wet wet at all times
