So I just got my Vamo a few days ago and it seems my battery is draining rather quickly. I have brand new Obtronics/Panasonic IMR Hybrid 18650 2250 mah batteries and an Xtar Wp2 charger. I've been using a 2.5 ohm HH357 atomizer. I am using the variable wattage option at 8.5 watts with accurate mode (No2). Th ree batteries and vapor production seem to die off rather quickly. Once the batteries get to about 3.9 volts, vapor and TH decrease. This happens within 3-6 hours with normal or regular vaping. Not really sure what the problem could be or if this is just normal.. Can anyone provide and insight or do you suspect something is faulty.

Same with me. I was told new batteries need about 10 charging cycles to get longer lasting plus I vape at 8.5 and I have 1.7 ohm. I am not concerned. First I'm vaping more, hew deice. 2nd my carto tank system happens to be slow, not delivering as fast this batch of one hole drilled cartos, and 3rd We'll I already covered that. Brand new batteries. Mine are AW IMR. 700 mah for the 18350,and 2000 mah for the 18650

Yeah, I bought new batteries as well. Thought about sticking them on my hobby charger and give them 10 cycles real quick to break them in but meh ... I'll have them broken in pretty quickly anywhoo.

Good point though Fay.

A fresh battery should read near 4.1xv-4.2v. If it's getting that than I highly doubt it would be a bad battery all together.

What's the voltage of your battery fresh off the charger? The tests I've seen show a dropoff near the end of voltage life. 3.9v is no where close to that. (more like 3.4-3.5v if I remember right)

Off the charger, my voltmeter shows 4.23 volts. They have not yet been cycled 10 times though.

Try the following:
1. Try a AW IMR 18650 or at least a different IMR 18650 battery to see if that may correct the problem.
if it doesn't fix the problem:
2. Try a different atomizer with approximately the same ohms as the HH.357
and if that doesn't fix the problem:
3. Try stacking two AW IMR 18350 batteries to see if that fixes the problem

Just a thought: Do you have the VAMO on NO2 setting? That's the RMS setting that most people have been using.

Good luck.

Yes I do have the NO2 setting on.. I don't really have any spare batteries but I will try a different atty and maybe order some 18350s...

Check out P Busardo's review on tasteyourjuice.com on the z max. I know you have the VAMO but from what I am hearing they are pretty much the same inside. He has some very interesting charts between the single 18650 and the 2 18350's. It looks like to me the device was designed around the stacked battery scenario. I'm not crazy about stacking batt's but that is prob what I will be doing in my new VAMO. Maybe that will help you drop off and short battery life.

life is short, Vape Hard

As far as I've been told, the Vamo and Zmax 2 have totally different chipsets but use the the same algorithm during pulse width modulation.

I had a Vmax that gave incorrect battery levels, this would result in the unit shutting off whilst there was still plenty of power left in the 18350's - it was a dud unit I'm afraid.

I think you have a faulty device.

I have heard of an issue where another Vamo was drawing too much current when idle causing the voltage in batteries to drom rapidly even when not in use.

So I would put a freshly charged battery and leave it overnight in the device and then measure the battery voltage the next day to see if this is causing the problem. In which case an exchange may be the best solution..
