They are pretty different honestly. I own both (authentic) I would say go with the Velocity if you can. The velocity's two post design is so easy to build on, no tinkering, no fiddling, huge post holes just pop your coils in and good to go. The air flow design is also amazing on the velocity, you can totally close it off or you can have it wide open for cloud chasing (and with the tab inside when you are adjusting your airflow the base doesn't spin). In addition to this there's also a ton of room in the velocity, and a deep juice well (never had leaking). The only cons I had with it is lining up the tab, but that's personal and getting the delrin in the top took a bit the first time but was it. I've also used the Mut X v4 and all I could think was "meh" ( I only used one build in it before it went back on the shelf) . The bottom airflow is okay but if you over drip it even a bit it's gonna leak, you can seal off the bottom air flow but if you lose one of those inserts you're sol until you can get some new ones. The flavor on the mut x v4 is okay but I found it better on the velocity. The build deck is a bit smaller and you're gonna have to center and move it around a bit. The build quality on the velocity is astounding, the same guys that made the Marquis made the velocity, when I got mine there was no metal shavings, no machine oil it was good to go out of the box (Avidvaper cleans all their rdas in an ultrasonic cleaner before sending them out). You can tell you're holding a solid piece. The mutation again was just "meh" not great but not bad either. Pretty much the velocity trumps the v4 in every way, unless you want one of the colors vdna offers. Don't get me wrong the Mutation X v4 is a viable choice and a good rda but if you are debating between the two there's no question that the velocity will come out on top.

Well, the first thing to note when deciding between the two is the price points. The Velocity is somewhere near $125 and the mutation x v4 is $30. But after reading up on the Velocity, it seems the price is worth it, as the machinists hand check every part for imperfections before the RDA is assembled, and is USA made, where the Mutation X v4 is Chinese made.
I have the v4, it's a great atty for the price. My cons with it are the thinness of the barrel section and the AFC on the top cap. And the plastic spacer ring thing makes it look cheaper than it is when it's put on. Also, when you close off the side AFC fully, only using the bottom air flow, air still comes in through the side holes, as there is a tiny gap between the top cap's AFC and the barrel, letting some air in.
The Velocity looks like a solid investment to me, you have the options of two different air flow sections (same with the Mutation), but with a two post design. I love two post atty's, building and centering coils on them is super easy. The 6 circle primary air holes look like they provide a good amount of circulation before getting to the secondary cyclops air flow.
I would get a clone of the velocity before buying authentic, as the price difference between the two authentics is pretty steep. Clones can be had for around $10 online

I have a Velocity clone and I have to admit it's stunned me so much I am considering an original very very seriously despite the price tag. I already have another clone on the way. It is quite a serious business in the industriousness of it's design. I was enamored with the Marquis prior to the velocity as terms of flavor and function, though this airflow adjustment, the sheer amount of juice the rda can hold, combined with the velocity's (also) incredible flavor make it easily my all dayer.

A co-worker has had the MutationX v4 for a few days now and is giving it rave reviews. His was unblemished on arrival and he is raving about the flavor. I am a hideous beast so he hasn't allowed me to vape from it or I could give you first hand experience. He has mentioned a bit of juice on his mod from over dripping, but I'm sure that's just getting past the learning curve as you would with any new atty. He'd been using the v1 and has mentioned he goes dry much faster with the new v4 as a mild con.

Glad to inform anyone interested in the MutationX v4 that it comes with 4 plugs. They also seat quite firmly from what I understand.

Yeah it comes with 4 plugs to close off the bottom air flow, 2 extras in case you lose them, and they're quite easy to lose as they're silicon and clear. The v4 to me seems a bit rushed in manufacturing as there are some flaws. I have both the v3 & v4, and the v3 is built MUCH more solidly. Thicker metal on the barrel section and on the side AFC "fins". Leaking isn't really that much an issue when you build properly on the deck, placing your coils directly over the bottom air holes and packing your wicks into the deep juice well. As long as you don't over juice her, you won't get leaks.

I am thinking of getting one of those
Anybody could share flavour experience from them? Which one better considering same build ?

Me myself think that MX bottom airflow may gives better flavour, but beware of its leak...am I correct ?
I got both of them and let me tell you, I was incredibly disappointed in the mx4, horrible performance in every category. The velocity has been alright for me. It definitely is super easy to build on, but it's prone to leaking fairly easily and I'm just not getting the same level of flavor I get off my vector or my sapor rda's...top airflow FTW all day, everyday, and twice on Sunday =]
