RDA Velocity with a Cool Fire IV???

I hope this is in the right spot, but here goes. I am upgrading mods sometime in the near future but I currently have a Cool Fire IV. I just traded an old tank for a Velocity..... Will it work on my Cool Fire, or should I just wait until I upgrade mods to use it??

I am using Kanthal pre wrapped coils and organic cotton if that matters. The coils are reading about .6......

Sure, you can use it on that mod. I use a velocity on my IPV D2 I usually stay around 30-45 watts and around 0.5 to 0.8 ohms on it. It will come down to your build. Thicker wire, or complex coils may need more than the 40 watts your mod can provide to be able to heat up in a reasonable amount of time. I am not sure how thick the wire is on your coils but I doubt you would need anything over 40 watts for an average dual coil build.

The other thing to consider (if you are not aware already) is if you are going from a single coil to dual coil, 0.6 ohm will become 0.3 ohm with both coils mounted. Unless I misunderstood your post and you meant 0.6 ohm reading for dual coils already.

No your assumption is correct. This will be my first RDA. I'm using the rebuildable coil section of the sub tank mini right now. But just using very thin kanthal pre mades and singles. So I'm assuming my Cool Fire IV could fire .3 ohm. I think I read it can go down to .2

Personally, I would run pairs of 1.2 ohm coils to get down to 0.6 if that is your target. Right now I have a pair of 28ga coils that are 9 wraps, 2.5mm ID that come out to 0.8 ohm for the pair (each one is around 1.6 ohm) and it is working well @ 35 watts. I am starting to prefer 26ga wire more, but I am out of it at the moment.

Building your own is not hard, it just takes a little practice and some patience.
The goal is not really X ohms, it is surface area. More surface area = more vapor and more flavor.
It's a balancing act and a matter of personal preference.

This is precisely how my my CF IV/Velocity is set up. I really, really like it.

I'm a low wattage guy though. I run right around 14-16 Watts.
