It is unfortunate that this thread is not a review of a Supplier, and would therefore belong in that forum. :)

I tend to spend my money with Suppliers that I feel are "nice people". I would rather spend a little extra and buy from people that I like, rather than feel like I am just a nameless customer, no matter how "professional" that Supplier may act. It's probably the same reason I try to shop as much as I can at my local "mom and pop" grocery store in the small town I live in, rather than drive 5 more minutes to a larger store with better prices.
True and absolutely spot on. If vendors/stores behave like professionals, you will never feel like just "another customer". I worked retail and had quite a following of customers that would rather make another trip to be served by me, rather than some of the other staff. Of course that tickled me pink so to speak, and they got 3 bags full Sir. Courtesy seems like such a foreign word these days.

The reason the thread is "not supplier/vendor" specific is because it applies to many, hence my closing remarks.

Now we are really being .... LOL

yes, but .... is fine. with more yanks than aussies here, it makes it hard to know which way to go, so i guess both ways shall do the trick. :)
and with that off my little chest, i shall toddle off to bed.

i have to agree with all of you wholeheartedly. i recently placed an order and forgot a letter on my email address. i corrected this on my profile after i received paypal confirmation, but no confirmation from the vendor. i then e-mailed them to please resend the email(s). long story short, a week later, i told them to forget about it as i had found my order tracking link on the site. (which was no easy task, there is NO way of finding on this particular site, i found it in my history... good thing i hadn't done my daily disk cleaning)

add competent employees to the list.

Excellent message. Will those that the messages are directed towards actually read and heed these suggestions and observations?

To answer my own question, if they are to remain in or build successful businesses, they will.

It is my wish and hope that we won't need this thread subject in the future for any ECF suppliers/vendors.

Having had my own businesses for 30+ years, I know I have had "off" moments at times AND they were definitely the exception...of course, I didn't participate in any forums like this where you could type what you are thinking and hit submit and not be able to retract it later after the dust settled and/or the cobwebs cleared.

I do support businesses that do business the way I do and not the others. I also prefer to use my own experiences with vendors/suppliers as my gauge and not rely solely on other customers stories...positive or negative.
