Vent holes

I have read Baditudes post on mech mod safety. I am into my regulated devices and I will not be using a mech until I have a dmm. I want to just have one to hand for occasional use. I know a machinist and apart from every precaution which I will take, I wonder if you or any other veterans still agree that drilling vent holes into the top of the mod (where the battery meets the 510 connection) is a safe procedure and will reduce the risk of a violently venting battery. Thanks guys

As long as you don't mind it venting out the top holes when you are vaping on it, that will work.

I'd rather it vent anywhere other than towards my face, but I'm silly like that.

I have to agree with Hoosier. I wouldn't want that hot gas up my nose or anywhere near my face.
