The vent/fluval combo works for me. I've been using it for about a week. As much as I love dripping my 510, I love carts convienince... The trick for me, was to make the hole as small as possible. I used an insulin syringe needle heated up in tweezers to burn my vent.

It takes some getting used to on refilling the cart. Until you get your technique down it will leak.

Of course, my wife hates the vent.

Your mom said not to say...
I don't see much difference but then again I never really cared for the 510 as a model. I am done with the 3pc models, once you switch over to the cartomizer the 510 just seems like a dinosaur or baby with the constant attention it needs compared to popping on a cart in the morning and knowing you won't have to top it off or drip or change it until after you get home if then. I have been using the same cart for the since yesterday morning and still making great vapor and taste.

I tried this with the stock filler, and it filled easily without a syringe or any other manipulation.
But it did leak a bit when it was full, which I consider a good thing.
It was a good indicator that it was full.
:)

So it gets a 8/10 for ease of filling.

I had to mess with it a lot while drawing on it though.
I got some juice in the mouth once, which NEVER happened with my 510 before.

I also got leaking and flooding when I stood it cartridge side up.
I got it worked out after awhile though.

I found that I can cover the hole with my lips while drawing, or not.
Letting the hole go uncovered means more juice flowing.
Covering the hole means less juice flowing.

I would start the draw with my lips over the hole to smoke what was already there.
And then I would draw my lips back off the hole to finish the drag.
That would help bring juice up for the next drag.

But in the end I found it to be a pain.
So for actual smoking utility, I have to give it a 5/10 rating.

The blue foam was working better for me, without as many hassles.

If I was doing something wrong, tips would be appreciated.
:)

"Of course, my wife hates the vent." Lol, I love it, I do not feel alone any longer! My wife has problems with everything regarding vaping, even the color of the battery. She definitely makes things challenging.

As far as venting, a few notes. Using a nylon teabag and vent, too strong, juice in the mouth. Regular filler makes for a stronger hit, with some juice in the mouth if you pull too hard. I do not fill my carts full, I would rather have 10 drops burn consistent than 20 burn inconsistent with 5 left in the filler.

With the amount of filler which come in the cart, when venting, you may find the hit is a little strong and somewhat irritates the nasal sinuses. Increasing the amount of filler will decrease air movement through the filler and give a smoother hit. The problem with venting is you are getting too good of flow from the cart, thus flooding the atty and inhaling fumes from unburnt liquid and sometimes the liquid itself. Increasing cart filler density helps to resolve this issue. I am currently using the cart filler (stock) and half the filler from a second cart. The fill capacity dropped to 12 drops, but the hit is smooth and not overpowering. It has actually been the best yet! Good flavor, not overpowering to the sinuses, good vapor. I will continue with some experimentation today.

Try using more filler, the air flowing through the cart is too much. Pack the filler a little tighter and increase it by about 50%. Fill capacity will drop, but performance should improve.
